Judul ArtikelHUBUNGAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL DENGAN ANGKA KEJADIAN STROKE HEMORAGIK DI RSUD PROF DR MARGONO SOEKARJO PURWOKERTO
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Background: In Indonesia, haemorragic stroke is the highest in incidence level among Asian country. At RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo, lots of patients with haemorragic stroke that can be found. The level of total cholesterol is believed as one of the risk factor. But, many different oppinions amongs researchers about the association of cholesterol level and haemorragic stroke..
Objective: To determine the association between total cholestrol level and the incidents of haemorragic stroke at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo patients.
Methods: This research conducted from December 2015 until January 2016 in RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto. There were 60 respondents participated in this research and chosen by consecutive sampling technic. Univariate analysis was used to perform the characteristic of age, gender, total cholesterol level, and types of strokes. Bivariate analysis was performed using the Chi-square methods. The multivariates analysis was performed using the logistic regression methods.
Results: Univariate analysis showed range of age between 34 until 86 years old, gender showed that women (68,65%) suffered higher infarc stroke and men (31,35%) suffered higher haemorragic stroke. For total cholesterol level, 33 people had normal-high and 27 had lower level. Bivariate analysis showed significant correlation between total cholesterol level and haemorragic stroke (p = 0.03; CI 95%). Multivariate analysis showed result of smoking and total cholesterol level as risk factors that differentiate between the types of stroke.
Conclusion: There was a significant association between total cholesterol level and haemorragic stroke, with a difference of proportion between low cholesterol level group (40,6%) and normal-high group (59,4%).
