Pendugaan Potensi Risiko Ekologis Logam Berat Pb, Cr, Cd, dan Mn Pada Sedimen Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Serayu, Jawa Tengah

Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Serayu merupakan DAS prioritas di Jawa Tengah yang berperan penting sebagai sumber air untuk irigasi, perikanan, pembangkit listrik, dan kebutuhan domestik. Aktivitas antropogenik di sepanjang DAS berpotensi memengaruhi keberadaan logam berat pada sedimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan konsentrasi logam berat Pb, Cr, Cd, dan Mn pada sedimen DAS Serayu serta mengevaluasi potensi risiko ekologisnya menggunakan Sediment Quality Guidelines (SQGs), Enrichment Factor (EF), Contamination Factor (CF), Index of Geoaccumulation (Igeo), dan Potential Ecological Risk Index (PERI). Sampel sedimen diambil pada sembilan stasiun menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Mn memiliki konsentrasi tertinggi (1.122,9 ± 526 mg/kg), diikuti Cr (3,076 ± 5,08 mg/kg), sedangkan Pb (0,015 ± 0,000 mg/kg) dan Cd (0,002 ± 0,000 mg/kg) berada di bawah batas deteksi. Nilai SQGs (<0,1) menunjukkan kualitas sedimen masih baik. Nilai EF menunjukkan Pb, Cr, dan Cd tidak mengalami pengayaan (EF < 1), sedangkan Mn termasuk pengayaan rendah (1 ≤ EF < 3). Nilai CF menunjukkan Pb, Cr, dan Cd termasuk kontaminasi rendah (CF < 1), sedangkan Mn termasuk kontaminasi tinggi (CF ≥ 6). Nilai Igeo menunjukkan Pb, Cr, dan Cd tidak terkontaminasi (Igeo ≤ 0), sedangkan Mn tidak terkontaminasi hingga terkontaminasi sedang (0 < Igeo < 1). Nilai PERI termasuk kategori risiko ekologis rendah (PERI < 150). Secara keseluruhan, sedimen DAS Serayu masih memiliki kualitas yang baik dengan potensi risiko ekologis rendah, meskipun Mn menunjukkan indikasi awal akumulasi dibandingkan logam lainnya.

The Serayu River Basin (DAS) is a priority watershed in Central Java that plays a vital role as a water source for irrigation, fisheries, power generation, and domestic needs. Anthropogenic activities along the watershed have the potential to affect the presence of heavy metals in sediments. This study aims to determine the concentrations of the heavy metals Pb, Cr, Cd, and Mn in sediments of the Serayu Watershed and to evaluate their potential ecological risks using Sediment Quality Guidelines (SQGs), Enrichment Factor (EF), Contamination Factor (CF), Index of Geoaccumulation (Igeo), and Potential Ecological Risk Index (PERI). Sediment samples were collected at nine stations using purposive sampling and analyzed via Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). The results showed that Mn had the highest concentration (1,122.9 ± 526 mg/kg), followed by Cr (3,076 ± 5.08 mg/kg), while Pb (0.015 ± 0.000 mg/kg) and Cd (0.002 ± 0.000 mg/kg) were below the detection limit. SQG values (<0.1) indicate that sediment quality is still good. EF values indicate that Pb, Cr, and Cd are not enriched (EF < 1), while Mn is classified as having low enrichment (1 ≤ EF < 3). CF values indicate that Pb, Cr, and Cd are classified as having low contamination (CF < 1), while Mn is classified as having high contamination (CF ≥ 6). Igeo values indicate that Pb, Cr, and Cd are uncontaminated (Igeo ≤ 0), while Mn ranges from uncontaminated to moderately contaminated (0 < Igeo < 1). PERI values fall into the low ecological risk category (PERI < 150). Overall, the sediments in the Serayu Watershed still have good quality with a low potential for ecological risk, although Mn shows early indications of accumulation compared to other metals.
