| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Fokus penelitian adalah alih-kode. Alih-kode adalah suatu peralihan penggunaan dari satu bahasa ke bahasa lain. Dalam penelitian ini, alih-kode dilakukan oleh guru dalam kelas keterampilan speaking khususnya dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keluasan alih-kode yang dilakukan oleh guru, dan sikap siswa terhadap alih-kode yang dilakukan guru dalam kelas berbicara baik mereka setuju maupun tidak setuju. Data penelitian ini adalah 39 siswa kelas 2 SMA Negeri 1 Majenang. Setelah melakukan penelitian, peneliti mendapatkan hasil bahwa alih-kode yang dilakukan oleh guru dalam kelas berbicara bahasa Inggris dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi siswa dan guru dalam penguasaan bahasa Inggris. Kebanyakan siswa dalam kelas tersebut ingin meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka sehingga mereka ingin agar guru mengurangi alih-kode dari bahasa Inggris ke dalam bahasa Indonesia pada saat menerangkan materi pelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa alih-kode yang dilakukan oleh guru dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi guru dan siswa dalam penguasaan bahasa Inggris dan siswa ingin meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mereka sehingga mereka ingin agar guru mengurangi alih-kode dalam kelas berbicara bahasa Inggris. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research focuses on code-switching. Code- switching is a switching of the use of one language to other language. In this research, code-switching is produced by the teacher in speaking class when he is delivering the subject material. The purposes of this research are to find out the extent of code-switching produced by the teacher in speaking class, and the students’ attitudes towards code-switching produced by the teacher in speaking class whether they agree on not. Data of this research is 39 students in the speaking class of the second year students of SMA Negeri 1 Majenang. After the researcher conducted this research, he find out the result that code-switching produced by the teacher in speaking class was influenced by teacher’s and students’ competence in English. The students want to increase their ability in English, therefore they want the teacher to minimize code-switching from English to Indonesian in delivering subject material. Based on the result of this research, the researcher concluded that code-switching produced by the teacher in speaking class was influenced by the teacher’s and students’ competence in English. The students want to increase their competence in English, thus they want their teacher to minimize code-switching in speaking class. |
