| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Perlindungan hukum dalam profesi jurnalistik sebenarnya berhubungan erat dengan dua kebutuhan dasar: (1) terkait dengan perlindungan hukum terhadap pekerja pers dengan segala kompleksitas permasalahannya; (2) menyangkut perlindungan hukum terhadap masyarakat akibat arogansi pers. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk perlindungan hukum terhadap profesi wartawan di Indonesia. Selain itu juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan Dewan Pers dalam memberikan perlindungan hukum terhadap profesi wartawan di Indonesia. Guna mencapai tujuan tersebut maka peneletian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan yuridis normatif. Data sekunder yang terkumpul kemudian diolah, disajikan, dan dianalisa secara kualitatif dengan penyajian data teks naratif. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa, bentuk perlindungan hukum terhadap profesi wartawan di Indonesia sebagaimana dijamin dalam UU 40 Tahun 1999 tentang Pers dan Peraturan Dewan Pers Nomor: 5/Peraturan-DP/IV/2008 Tentang Standar Perlindungan Profesi Wartawan. Peranan Dewan pers dalam hal dalam memberikan perlindungan hukum terhadap profesi wartawan di Indonesia antara lain mengoordinasikan pelaksanaan Pedoman Penanganan Kasus Kekerasan Terhadap wartawan ini dengan perusahaan pers dan organisasi profesi wartawan. Mengingatkan tanggung jawab perusahaan pers dan organisasi profesi wartawan. Turut mengupayakan dana yang dibutuhkan untuk menangani kasus kekerasan terhadap wartawan sampai proses hukum dinyatakan selesai dan lainnya. |

Inggris) | Legal protection of reporters is actually closely related to the two basic requirements: (1) related to the legal protection against press workers with all the complexity of the problem; (2) concerning the legal protection of the public due to the arrogance of the press. This study aims to analyze the form of legal protection of reporters in Indonesia. It also aims to determine the role of the Press Council in providing legal protection for reporters in Indonesia. To achieve these objectives, the intensive search was conducted using the normative juridical approach. Secondary data were collected and then processed, presented, and analyzed qualitatively with the presentation of narrative text data. The study states that the form of legal protection of reporters in Indonesia as guaranteed by the Act 40 of 1999 on the Press and the Press Council Regulation No. 5 / Rule-DP / IV / 2008 about the Standards of Reporters protection. The role of the Council in terms of the press in providing legal protection for reporters in Indonesia include coordinating the implementation of the Guidelines for Handling Cases of Violence Against reporters with press companies and the organizations of reporters. Reminding of press companies responsibilities and the organizations of reporters. Helped raise funds needed to handle cases of violence against reporters until the legal process is completed and etc. |
