| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Desa Kaliwungu merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Kedungreja Kabupaten Cilacap sebagian besar penduduknya hidup dari sektor pertanian. Pendapatan diperoleh berasal dari pekerjaan pokok sebagai petani gula kelapa dan pekerjaan sampingan seperti buruh tani, berdagang, beternak atau kegiatan usaha lainya. Di Desa Kaliwungu gula kelapa menjadi tumpuan hidup ratusan keluarga, terutama yang tidak memiliki sawah. Sebagian besar hanyalah buruh penderes yang sudah berumur sekitar 40 tahun keatas. Salah satu dusun di Desa Kaliwungu yaitu Dusun Wungureja, usaha gula kelapa merupakan usaha pokok. Dengan pengolahan gula kelapa yang masih sederhana dan tradisional. Perempuan diserahi tanggung jawab untuk membuat gula kelapa (mengindel) sementara kaum lelaki bertugas menyadap (menderes) nira dari pohon kelapa. Sebagian besar waktu sehari-hari para pengrajin gula kelapa digunakan untuk menderes dan memasak gula kelapa. Seorang penderes menghabiskan 3-8 jam waktunya untuk memanjat pohon kelapa, bekerja setiap hari dari mulai pagi hingga siang, dan dari sore hingga petang, mulai menyiapkan peralatan menyadap nira, menyadap nira (menderes), hingga memasak nira, sampai akhirnya mencetak gula kelapa. Rata-rata penderes hanya melanjutkan sekolah pada jenjang pendidikan yang menengah bahkan ada yang tidak lulus SD, sehingga pengetahuannya kurang baik dan belum menyadari benar pentingnya pendidikan bagi anak-anaknya. Jumlah pengeluaran berasal dari keperluan pokok seperti kebutuhan sehari-hari, kebutuhan pangan ditambah pengeluaran tidak terduga seperti acara hajatan atau sumbangan orang meninggal dunia. Jumlah anggota keluarga yang besar menyebabkan pemenuhan kebutuhan semakin besar pula, termasuk pemenuhan pendidikan anak sehingga menyebabkan pemenuhan kebutuhan kurang maksimal. Jenis rumah yang mereka tempati sebagian besar yaitu non permanen atau semi permanen dengan status kepemilikan adalah milik sendiri. Dilihat dari keaadaan rumah, listrik hanya untuk penerangan, MCK yang sederhana , kebersihanya kurang terjaga sehingga dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit, kondisi rumah umumnya belum dilengkapi dengan sarana lingkungan untuk rumah yang sehat dan bersih. Barang-barang yang mereka miliki hanya jenis barang kebutuhan pokok atau sekunder seperti TV, sepeda, peralatan elektronik, atau kendaraan bermotor. |

Inggris) | ABSTRACT The title of this research is ” the Analysis of the Social Economy of the Coconut SugarFarmer inthe Village of Kaliwungu, Subdistrict of Kedungreja, Regencyof Cilacap”. The background of research is the low household income, income per capita, education level of the head of household is low, coconut sugar farmer most of the in the old age, high of responsibility for the family member, simple house condition, small land of trees, and even many of them does not has their own land trees and become the farm worker. Beside that, the infrastructure is not in good condition such as road, rice field irrigation these make worse the condition of social economy of society. The purpose of this research is to analyze the social economy of the coconut sugar farmer in the Village of Kaliwungu and analyze the prosperity level of the household of coconut sugar farmer in the Village of Kaliwungu. Type of this research is the survey research. Adnthe method of takingsample uses the method of Snowball Sampling. Respondents inthis research are 92 respondents. Methodof analysis inthis research uses analysis of tabulation and crossed tabulation thatisthe data arrangement in the formof table. From the result of research it is obtained that the condition of social economy of the coconut sugar famer in the Village of Kaliwungu, Sub district of Kedungreja, Regency of Cilacap most of them is classified into low condition in social and economy. It can be known from the education level of the head of household that is relative low, family income is low, and total responsibility of family that is relative high so the income per capita of family is low. It can be seen from the size of prosperity according to Disserved Life Need (KHL), it can be known that there is still many of families of coconut sugar famer who still living in the not prosperous condition, that is 83 people. And according to BPS there is 71 respondents are in the prosperous condition and the rest of them is in the poor condition. Implication from the conclusion above that in order to the condition of social and economy of the coconut sugar famer in the Village of Kaliwungu, Sub district of Kedungreja, Regency of Cilacap can increase, produces the income from the outside of the agriculture business and income per capita can increase, realize the important of the education especially for their children to get the higher education, and control the total children to avoid the hig h expenditure for family and follow the planning program that has been made by government. Beside that the coconut sugar famer add the total trees and they need to have the innovation in making the coconut sugar in order to the coconut sugar production is increase and can attract the consumer in the market. |
