| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Pedagang kaki lima merupakan pekerjaan yang memilki peranan sebagai katup pengaman ekonomi dan pembangunan negara. Indonesia negara berkembang yang belum mampu mencukupi serta menyediakan ruang pekerjaan bagi penduduknya. Kondisi ini akhirnya mengantarkan masyarakat pada pilihan pekerjaan sektor informal. Keberadaannya bukan hanya mampu sebagai penyedia pekerjaan tetapi telah memberikan kontribusi bagi pemerintah dalam mengatasi gejolak ekonomi masyarakat akan kegelisahan terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup. Pada akhirnya pekerjaan PKL memiliki kontribusi berarti bagi penyangga kebutuhan ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui bagaimana strategi yang diterapkan PKL dalam menghadapi persaingan dagang, sehingga mereka mampu bertahan dan mengembangkan usahanya, permasalahan apa saja yang pernah dihadapi oleh PKL dan menjelaskan peran PKL dalam menciptakan kesempatan kerja di Purwokerto. Lokasi penelitian Jalan HR. Bunyamin dan Komplek Gor Satria. Metode Purposive Sampling yaitu berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu, yang sengaja ditetapkan.Sampel dalam penelitian ini ditetapkan yaitu PKL kualifikasi berjualan di atas 10 tahun. Hasil penelitian adalah PKL bukanlah pekerjaan rendah, karena pekerjaan tersebut banyak membantu masyarakat sektor ekonomi lemah dalam mendapatkan pekerjaan.Usaha PKL mempertahankan eksistensi di tengah persaingan menggunakan strategi, strategi dilakukan sebagai pertahanan dalam menghadapi persaingan usaha.Setelah bertahun-tahun mampu bertahan dalam persaingan, mereka memiliki pengalaman banyak dibidangnya. Pengalaman tersebut terlihat dari bagaimana cara untuk mengatasi berbagai macam kendala atau permasalahan dalam berdagang selama bertahun-tahun lamanya. Permasalahan ini berupa, modal, lokasi berjualan, persaingan internal dan external. Sudah saatnya pemerintah harus lebih memperhatikan keberlagsungan dan memperhatikan keberadaannya di Purwokerto untuk dibina serta memberikan dukungan yaitu memberikan modal usaha, pelatihan, pemberdayaan, sehingga pemanfaatannya dapat dimaksimalkan. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Street vendors is a job that has the role as a economic safety valve and country development. Indonesia as a developing countries are not able to sufficient and providing enough work space for all the population. This condition eventually leads the community into the informal sector employment. Informal sector is not only capable as a jobs provider but also has contributed to the government to solve the economic turmoil on the society and the anxiety toward subsistence. In the end, street vendors have significant contributions to support the economic needs of the community. The aims of this research is to determine how the strategy adopted in the face of trade vendors, so that they are able to survive and expand their business, any problems ever faced by street vendors and explain the role of street vendors in creating employment opportunities in Purwokerto. The location of this research is HR Bunyamin Street and GOR Satria. Author using Purposive sampling Method is based on certain considerations, which sample is deliberately decided in this study determined, that the street vendors was qualified over 10 years experience. The results of this research are street vendor worker is not a low job, because as the job, street vendor worker give much help especialy to the weak economy society to get a job. Street vendors maintaining existence in the middle of the competition using their strategy, the strategy carried out as a defense to face the competition. After years they keep survive in this competition, they have a lot of experience in their field. Experience can be seen from how they cope with a wide variety of obstacles or problems in the trade for many years. These problems are include capital, selling location, external and internal competition. This is time for the government to pay attention more to their existence and noticed their presence in Purwokerto to give them guidance and support, which is providing venture capital, training and empowerment, so the utilization can be maximized. |
