Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh subtitusi konsentrat oleh tepung bulu ayam olahan terhadap bobot tubuh dan bobot karkas ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah 60 ekor ayam broiler, kandang metabolis dan Bacillus Sp. MTS untuk fermentasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan yaitu, R0 (tanpa pemberian tepung bulu olahan), R1 (3% tepung bulu olahan), R2 (6 % tepung bulu olahan) , R3 (9 % tepung bulu olahan), R4 (12 % tepung bulu olahan), setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali. Peubah yang diamati adalah bobot tubuh dan bobot karkas. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung bulu olahan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap bobot tubuh dan bobot karkas. Hasil pengamatan diperoleh rataan bobot tubuh antara 1315 g ± 82,20 g sampai dengan 1353 g ± 78,33 g dan rataan bobot karkas antara 854 g ± 53,62 g sampai dengan 879 g ± 51,10 g. Teknik pengolahan tepung bulu secara fisik, kimia, dan biologis dengan cara fermentasi menggunakan Bacillus sp MTS mampu meningkatkan daya cerna bulu ayam dan tepung bulu olahan dan dapat digunakan hingga 12% tanpa menyebabkan penurunan bobot.

Inggris)The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of of substitution of concentrate by processed chicken feather powder and its effects on body weight and carcasses of broilers.. The materials used were 60 broiler chickens, metabolic cages and Isolates of Bacillus Sp. MTS for fermentation. The study was conducted with an experimental method in vivo using completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments. R0 (without any feather meal), R1 (3% processed feather meal), R2 (6% processed feather meal), R3 (9% processed feather meal), R4 (12% processed feather meal). Each treatment was repeated 4 times. The observed variables are body weight and carcass weight. The observation of the average body weight gained between 1315 g ± 82.20 g to 1353 g ± 78.33 g and the average carcass weight between 854 g ± 53.62 g to 51.10 g ± 879 g. Results of analysis of variance showed that the use of fermented feather powder does not affect significantly (P> 0.05) on body weight and carcass weight. Feather powder processing techniques, which are physically, chemically, and biologically by using fermented Bacillus sp MTS is able to improve the digestibility of chicken feathers and feather powder preparations and can be used up to 12% without causing weight loss.
