| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Manusia membutuhkan bahasa untuk berhubungan dengan orang lain. Maka dari itu, agar dapat menyampaikan pesan dengan benar, pengucapan bahasa tersebut juga harus benar. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti secara khusus mencari tahu penyimpangan suara apa saja yang terjadi Bahasa Inggris di Jepang pada acara televisi Itadakimasu! Dining With The Chef. Peneliti juga mencoba untuk menemukan penyebab terjadinya penyimpangan suara tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitaif dan mengambil dua episode dari acara televisi tersebut sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini. Data dianalisis dengan membandingkan pelafalan yang benar berdasarkan kamus Oxford Advanced Learner's dengan pelafalan oleh Chef Tatsuo Saito, pembawa acara dari acara televisi tersebut. Kemudian peneliti mengelompokkan penyimpangan suara yang ditemukan dalam empat jenis kesalahan berdasarkan teori dari Dulay and Burt in Ellis (1985, p. 28). Analisis kemudian berlanjut dengan mencari penyebab penyimpangan suara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyimpangan suara-suara berikut: [w] [w ], [v] [b], [f] [b], [ð] [ tʃ], [ð] [d], [ð] [z], [r] [ɽ], [l] [ɽ], dan penghilangan suara [l], [r], dan [t] dapat digolongkan dalam Interference-like error. Penyimpangan suara yang melibatkan suarasuara berikut: [t] [tʃ] dan [n] [ŋ], dapat dimasukkan dalam kategori first language developmental error. Penyimpangan-penyimpangan yang terjadi disebabkan oleh proses interference yang merujuk pada proses yang bersifat psikologis dan sosiologis. Proses yang bersifat sosiologis menunjukkan bahwa penyimpangan yang muncul terjadi secara tidak sadar karena pengaruh dari karakteristik dari bahasa pertama. Sedangkan proses yang bersifat sosiologis menunjukkan bahwa proses interaksi sosial juga memberikan pengaruh terhadap kesalahan dalam bentuk penyimpangan suara yang terjadi pada pengucapan Bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa kedua. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa setiap penyimpangan suara terjadi dalam jumlah dan jenis kesalahan yang berbeda satu sama lain. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | People need language to communicate with the others. Therefore, to deliver the meaning, they need to pronounce their words in a right way. In this study, the researcher focused on finding out what kind of sound deviation on Japanese English on Itadakimasu! Dining With The Chef. The researcher also analyzed further to find out the reason behind those sound deviation. The researcher applied qualitative research method and took two episodes of the show as the sample of this research. The data are analyzed by comparing the right pronunciation based on Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary with the pronunciation of Chef Tatsuo Saito, the host of the show. The researcher also classified the error into four type of errors based on based on Dulay and Burt in Ellis (1985, p. 28). Then the analysis went further to find out the reason for the error. The result shows that the deviation regarding sound [w] [w ], [v] [b], [f] [b], [ð] [ tʃ], [ð] [d], [ð] [z], [r] [ɽ], [l] [ɽ], and the deletion of sound [l], [r], and [t] belong to Interference-like error. Sound deviation regarding sound [t] [tʃ] and [n] [ŋ] belong to the first language developmental error. Those deviations are caused by interference which referred to psychological and sociological process. Psychological means that the deviation happened because unconsciously he deviated the sound as the result of the native language characteristic. Meanwhile, sociological deals with how the social interaction contributes to the error he made in producing English as his foreign language. The conclusion of this research shows that each deviation varies in the number of occurrences and the type of error the deviation categorized into. |
