Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Limbah cair RPH Purwokerto Timur dibuang ke Kali Bakal. Limbah cair yang dibuang di sungai dan tidak diolah secara maksimal terlebih dahulu dan melebihi beban maksimum pencemaran yang dapat diterima sungai, maka dampak yang tidak diinginkan akan timbul. Pembuangan limbah cair yang mempengaruhi kualitas air mempengaruhi perilaku masyarakat.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survai terhadap variabel kualitas air, beban pencemaran air limbah RPH,dan perilaku masyarakat. Variabel kualitas air ditentukan dengan menentukan status mutu air menggunakan metode STORET. Variabel beban pencemaran diukur dengan menghitung BPM, BPA, BPAi, BPMi. Pengukuran perilaku masyarakat dilakukan dengan kuisioner terhadap indikator pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan yang kemudian dibuat persentase berdasarkan ranking. Pengukuran hubungan antara kualitas air Kali Bakal dan perilaku masyarakat dilakukan menggunakan kuisioner dan melakukan uji korelasi Spearman rank.
Kondisi kualitas air Kali Bakal yang terpapar masukan limbah cair RPH Purwokerto Timur menunjukan penurunan kualitas fisika dan kimia air yang ditunjukkan dengan penurunan kadar DO dan BOD5 yang melebihi baku mutu yang dipersyaratkan pada stasiun III s/d VI. Status mutu air pada stasiun I dan II tercemar sedang (C), stasiun III sampai V mengalami penurunan kondisi status mutu menjadi tercemar berat (D) dan pada stasiun VI mengalami perbaikan status mutu menjadi tercemar sedang (C). Kondisi Beban Pencemaran yang dihasilkan limbah RPH Purwokerto Timur menunjukan hasil tidak memenuhi syarat. Hal ini menguatkan bahwa limbah RPH mempengaruhi penurunan kualitas air Kali Bakal di Stasiun III. Perilaku masyarakat sepanjang Kali Bakal secara umum terlihat dari hasil pengukuran variabel pembentuk perilaku dimana secara umum responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang cukup baik(81,7%), responden memiliki tingkat sikap yang cukup baik (77,4%), tetapi sebagian besar responden (73,1%) masih memiliki tingkat tindakan yang tidak baik. Tingkat pengetahuan, sikap dan tidakan pada stasiun I dan II lebih baik dari stasiun III sampai VI. Secara umum, kualitas air cenderung kurang berkaitan dengan perilaku masyarakat.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)To meet the need for meat in Purwokerto, fulfilled by Purwokerto Timur Slaughterhouse that located precisely at Mersi Village. Liquid waste produced from slaughtering or meat processing in the slaughterhouse is discharged to Bakal River. If it is not properly managed and exceeds the total maximum daily load for river pollutant, so it will lead to undesirable environmental impact. Liquid waste disposal that affects water quality can also affect people’s behavior in using the river. This problem should be analyzed and solved in order to seek sustainable system to provide healthy meat which neither negatively affects the social life nor creates pollution.
The objectives of the research are to 1) determine water quality of Bakal River which has been polluted with waste from Purwokerto Timur slaughterhouse in Banyumas Regency; 2) determine the total maximum daily load of waste from the slaughterhouse to Bakal River in Banyumas Regency; 3) determine people’s behavior concerning the waste disposal from Purwokerto Timur slaughterhouse to Bakal River in Banyumas Regency; and 4) analyze the relationship between water quality of Bakal River and local people’s behavior.
This research used survey method on the variables of water quality, total maximum daily load of waste from the slaugterhouse and local people’s behavior. To check the water quality of Bakal River, purposive sampling for water at six stations was done three times, repeatedly. To check the total maximum load of waste, samples were taken once at the outlet of liquid waste disposal from the slaughterhouse. For people’s behavior variable, this research used random sampling, to 93 people. To determine the water quality status, STORET method was applied on parameters which were used. The parameters were based upon Government Regulation Number 82 Year 2001 which was limited by the parameters for wastewater quality standard from slaughterhouses, namely, physical parameters (water temperature, air temperature, TSS, the depth of river, water velocity, water discharge), chemical parameters (pH, DO, BOD5, COD, oil and grease, NH3) and biological parameter (total coliform). For the variable of total maximum load of waste, it was measured through BPM, BPA, BPAi, BPMi against the parameters of vii
slaughterhouse elemental contaminants in accordance to Central Java Province Local Regulation
Number 5 Year 2012, namely, TSS, BOD5, COD, NH3, and oil and grease. The analysis on people’s behavior was done based on likert scale, questionnaire with the indicators of knowledge, attitude, and action which was then converted to percentage based on ranking. The assessment on the relationship between water quality of Bakal River and people’s behavior was done using questionnaire and Spearman rank correlation test.
Physical, chemical and biological water quality of Bakal River that crossed Purwokerto Wetan, Mersi Villages in Purwokerto Timur District and Berkoh village in Purwokerto Selatan District Banyumas Regency that receiving input of Purwokerto Timur Slaughterhouse liquid wastes, shows the decrease of physical and chemical water quality shown with the decrease of DO rate and BOD rate that exceeds the quality standard that is required at station III to station VI. Status of water quality at stations I and II are medium polluted (C), quality status conditions of station III to V declining become heavily polluted (D) an quality status at station VI improved becomes medium polluted (C). Pollution Load Conditions that generated Purwokerto Timur Slaughterhouse wastes shows that the result do not meet the requirements regulated in Central Java Province Local Regulation number 5 Year 2012 on Wastewater quality standard. This strongly suggest that slaughterhouse waste affecting water quality at station III. People’s behavior along Bakal river generally shown from the results of measurements of variables that forming behavior where respondents generally have a pretty good level of knowledge (81,7%), respondents had a pretty good attitude rate (77,4%), but most of respondents (73,1%) still have a level of action that is not good. The level of knowledge, attitudes an actions on the station I and station II better than III to VI. Generally, water quality tends to be less related to people’s behavior.
