Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi tepung daun pepaya (Carica papaya) dalam pakan ayam kampung terhadap kadar lemak dan kolesterol daging dan mengetahui level optimum suplementasi tepung daun pepaya (Carica papaya) dalam pakan ayam kampung terhadap kadar lemak dan kolesterol daging. Penelitian dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 28 November 2013 sampai tanggal 10 Januari 2014. Pemeliharaan dilaksanakan di Seloarum Farm, Kecamatan Sokaraja, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode metode eksperimental in vivo dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang digunakan terdiri dari : Ransum basal tanpa penambahan tepung daun pepaya (R0), R0 + 2% tepung daun pepaya (R1), R0 + 4% tepung daun pepaya (R2), R0 + 6% tepung daun pepaya (R3). Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 5 kali. Peubah yang diukur terdiri atas lemak dan kolesterol daging ayam kampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun pepaya dalam ransum berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar lemak daging dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kolesterol daging ayam kampung. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan tepung daun pepaya sebesar 4,5% mampu menurunkan kadar lemak daging sebesar 29,4% dan penggunaan sampai level 6% memberikan kadar kolesterol yang relatif sama.

Inggris)This research was aimed to determine the effect of papaya leaf meal (Carica papaya) supplementation in chicken feed on fat content and cholesterol of meat and to determine the optimum level of supplementation of papaya leaf meal(Carica papaya) in chicken feed on fat content and cholesterol of meat. This experiment was conducted from 28 of November 2013 until 10 of January 2014. The maintenance wost carried out in Seloarum Farm , District of Sokaraja, Banyumas. The method used in this research was in vivo experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments consisted of : basal diet without the addition of papaya leaf meal (R0), R0 + 2 % papaya leaf meal (R1), R0 + 4 % papaya leaf meal (R2), R0 + 6 % papaya leaf meal (R3). Each treatment was repeated 5 times. The Variables measured were fat and cholesterol contents of kampung chicken meat. The results showed that the effect of the use of papaya leaf meal in the ration was highly significant (P <0.01) on fat content of meat and had no effect on cholesterol of kampung chicken meat. The conclusion of this study is, the use of papaya leaf meal of 4.5% can reduces the fat content of meat of 29.4% and the use of up to a level of 6% give relatively similar levels of cholesterol.
