| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Bahasa adalah hal yang penting dalam berkomunikasi. Masyarakat di dunia ini menggunakan bahasa untuk berkomunikasi satu sama lain. Sebagai media komunikasi, bahasa memiliki peranan penting untuk mengalihkan pesan dari penutur kepada pendengar. Dalam hal ini, penutur harus dapat membuat pendengar mengerti informasi yang diberikan. Terkadang, ada jurang pemisah komunikasi antar manusia. Penerjemahan adalah solusi dalam masalah ini. Dalam penerjemahan itu sendiri, ada banyak teknik yang dapat digunakan. Menurut teori Molina dan Albir (2002), ada 18 teknik penerjemahan. Sementara itu, pesan yang akan disampaikan dalam penerjemahan harus akurat. Nababan (2012) menulis instrument penilaian dalam penerjemahan, yaitu : akurat, kurang akurat, dan tidak akurat. Setiap kategori memiliki parameter masing-masing. Objek kajian ini adalah teks film Patch Adams. Film ini merupakan film yang sukses di USA pada tahun 1998. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dilakukan pada penerjemahan istilah-istilah medis dalam film ini. Hal ini terdiri atas teknik-teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dan akurasi penerjemahan itu sendiri. Ada 18 teknik penerjemahan yang dianalisis pada 94 istilah medis sebagai data penelitian ini. Berdasarkan penelitian, ditemukan 5 teknik penerjemahan pada film Patch Adams, yaitu teknik established equivalent (29 data atau 30.85%), teknik borrowing (37 data atau 39.36%), teknik description (18 data atau 19.15%), teknik literal (9 data atau 9.58%), dan teknik reduction (1 datum atau 1.06%). Dari hasil tersebut, jenis teknik penerjemahan yang sebagian besar digunakan adalah teknik borrowing. Hasil penilaian akurasi penerjemahan yang diperoleh dari kuisioner yang telah diisi para rater terhadap 94 data menunjukkan bahwa 49 data atau 52.12% adalah akurat, 36 data atau 38.30% kurang akurat, dan 9 data atau 9.58% tidak akurat. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa lebih dari 50% penerjemahan istilah medis dalam film Patch Adams ini akurat. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari besarnya prosentase tertinggi penerjemahan akurat yang mencakup 49 data atau 52.12%. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Language is an important thing in communication. Most people in this world use language to communicate each other. As a media of communication, language has an important role to transfer message or information from the speaker to the hearer. In this case, the speaker should make the listener understand the information which has been given. Sometimes, there is a communication gap between people. There is a translation to solve this problem. In translation itself, there are many techniques to use. Based on the theory of Molina and Albir, there are 18 techniques of translation. Besides, the message which is transferred should be accurate. Nababan (2012) wrote the accuracy rating instrument of translation. Those are: accurate, less accurate, and inaccurate. Each category has parameter itself. The object of the analysis is the subtitle of Patch Adams movie. This movie was a box-office success in United States in 1998. The descriptive qualitative analysis was conducted to the translation of medical terms in this movie. It consists of the translation techniques which are used and the accuracy. There are 18 translation techniques to analyze with 94 terms as the data of this research. From the analysis, there were 5 translation techniques found in Patch Adams movie. They were established equivalent technique (29 data or 30.85%), borrowing technique (37 data or 39.36%), description technique (18 data or 19.15%), literal technique (9 data or 9.58%), and reduction technique (1 datum or 1.06%). From the percentage above, the most type that was used is borrowing technique. The accuracy assessment of the translation from the questionnaires that the raters rated are 49 data or 52.12% were accurate, 36 data or 38.30% were less accurate, and 9 data or 9.58% were inaccurate. It can be concluded that more than 50% of medical terms translation in Patch Adams movie is accurate. It can be seen from the highest percentage which is obtained by the classification A (accurate) which covers 49 data or 52.12%. |
