| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Latar Belakang: Infeksi saluran pernafasan akut (ISPA) merupakan penyebab utama morbiditas dan mortalitas penyakit menular di dunia pada bayi dan anak-anak terutama di negara berkembang. Hampir empat juta orang meninggal akibat ISPA setiap tahun, 98% disebabkan oleh infeksi saluran pernapasan bawah, dan 15%-20% kematian terjadi pada golongan usia balita. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor risiko, seperti tidak mendapat Air Susu Ibu (ASI) eksklusif. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian ISPA pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah puskesmas Purwokerto Selatan. Metode: Desain penelitian menggunakan analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi adalah 143. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan cara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian bersumber dari kuesioner. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Chi square. Hasil: Prevalensi ISPA pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah puskesmas Purwokerto Selatan adalah 58,7%. Hasil uji Chi square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian ISPA pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan di wilayah puskesmas Purwokerto Selatan dengan nilai p=0,022 ; CI=95%. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan kejadian ISPA pada bayi usia 6-12 bulan di puskesmas Purwokerto Selatan. |

Inggris) | Background: Acute respiratory tract infection (ARTI) is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in the world for infectious disease in infants and children, especially in developing countries. Nearly four million people died each year caused respiratory infection, 98% caused lower respiratory tract infections, and 15%-20% deaths occured in children under five age group. ARTI influenced many other risk factors, such as not exclusively breastfeed. Objective: To determine relationship between giving of exclusive breastfeeding and acute respiratory tract infection to infants age 6-12 months in Puskesmas South Purwokerto area. Method: An observational analytic by cross sectional design. The number of respondents was 143 based on inclusion criterias. The research samples were obtained by cluster random sampling. Research data were sourced from questioner. Statistical analysis used by Chi-square test. Result: The prevalence of acute respiratory tract infection in infants age 6-12 months in Puskesmas South Purwokerto area is 58,7%. The results of the Chi-square test showed there was a relationship between giving of exclusive breastfeeding and acute respiratory tract infection to infants age 6-12 months in Puskesmas South Purwokerto area with a p=0,022; CI=95%. Conclusion: There was relationship between giving of exclusive breastfeeding and acute respiratory tract infection to infants age 6-12 months in puskesmas South Purwokerto area. |
