| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Skripsi ini berjudul Proxemics Analysis of Main Female Character, Erin Brockovich, in Erin Brockovich Movie. Penelitian ini menganalisis jenis proksemik yang digunakan oleh Erin Brockovich dilihat dari sudut pandang sosiolinguistik. Data dari penelitian ini adalah jenis-jenis proksemik yang ditunjukkan oleh Erin Brockovich. Penelitian ini juga membahas tentang penerapan jenis-jenis proksemik tersebut terhadap context of SPEAKING. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah jarak antarpersonal dan dialog antara Erin Brockovich dengan karakter-karakter lainnya di dalam film. Dari 24 jarak antarpersonal yang ditunjukkan oleh Erin Brockovich, peneliti menemukan 3 jenis proksemik, yaitu: 3 jarak intim (2 fase dekat dan 1 fase jauh), 13 jarak personal (5 fase dekat dan 8 fase jauh), dan 8 jarak sosial (5 fase dekat dan 3 fase jauh). Peneliti tidak menemukan jarak publik, baik fase dekat maupun fase jauh. Erin Brockovich menggunakan jenis proksemik yang berbeda kepada setiap karakter dalam film tersebut. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan sumbangsih terhadap perkembangan sosiolinguistik. Penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat memfasilitasi penelitian selanjutnya sehinga penelitian lain yang serupa dapat dilakukan untuk mengetahui penerapan proksemik pada objek-objek lainnya. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The research is about a sociolinguistics study of proxemics by Erin Brockovich in Erin Brockovich movie. This research is purposed to find out the proxemic types used by Erin Brockovich in Erin Brockovich movie and its implementation in the context of SPEAKING. The analyzed data are all proxemic types that are shown by Erin Brockovich to all characters. Qualitative method is used in this research and the sources of the data are interpersonal distances and dialogues between Erin Brockovich and the other characters. The collected data are analyzed to find out the proxemic types and the implementation of the context of SPEAKING. From 24 Erin Brockovich’s interpersonal distances, the researcher finds 3 intimate distances (2 close phase and 1 far phase), 13 personal distances (5 close phase and 8 far phase), and 8 social distances (5 close phase and 3 far phase). The researcher finds no public distance both in close phase and far phase. Erin uses different proxemic types when she speaks to other characters in the movie. The research, with any luck, can give contribution to the development in sociolinguistics study. The study of proxemics shown by Erin Brockovich in Erin Brockovich movie hopefully can increase other students’ interest to explore proxemics in other context. In addition, it can be an input for those who are going to have similar research in proxemics. |
