Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Permasalahan ekosistem pesisir seperti kerusakan sumberdaya alam, musnahnya berbagai spesies hayati, instrusi air laut, berkembangnya berbagai jenis penyakit, bahkan pencemaran perairan. Kandungan logam berat Pb pada air di Segara Anakan mengalami peningkatan setiap tahun. Logam berat yang terakumulasi ke dalam tubuh biota perairan dapat dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat. Persepsi masyarakat terhadap lingkungan akan berkaitan dengan persepsi masyarakat terhadap pencemaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) pada air, insang, hati; kerusakan jaringan insang dan hati ikan Belanak; serta persepsi masyarakat terkait pencemaran logam berat Pb di Perairan Segara Anakan Cilacap. Penelitian dilakukan antara Januari-Maret 2013. Teknik pengambilan sampel air dan ikan Belanak menggunakan Purposive Sampling yang terdiri dari 6 stasiun yang mewakili kawasan industri, pemukiman, dan pertanian, serta kawasan perairan yang didominasi pohon mangrove sebagai kontrol. Data persepsi masyarakat diperoleh dari wawancara terstruktur terpimpin menggunakan kuisioner semi terbuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan logam berat Pb pada air berkisar 0,186-1,846 µg/l, insang ikan Belanak berkisar 0,043-0,303 mg/kg, dan hati berkisar 0,100-0,628 mg/kg. Insang ikan Belanak (Mugil dusssumieri) yang tertangkap telah mengalami brankhitis, kongesti, dan dugaan keberadaan potongan parasit, sedangkan hati ikan Belanak telah mengalami degenerasi melemak, foki nerotik, perihepatitis, dan nekrosis, tetapi masih terdapat beberapa insang dan hati ikan Belanak yang tidak mengalami patologi spesifik. Keberadaan logam berat Pb pada perairan Segara Anakan dipengaruhi oleh ketidaktahuan masyarakat akan pencemaran logam berat. Masyarakat hanya mengetahui pencemaran yang terjadi di Segara Anakan akibat keberadaan industri minyak. Masyarakat juga tidak mengetahui jika logam berat Pb merupakan sumber pencemar perairan dan berdampak pada biota perairan serta kesehatan manusia. Kandungan logam berat Pb pada air mengakibatkan akumulasi logam berat Pb pada insang dan hati ikan Belanak dan menyebabkan kerusakan jaringan insang dan hati ikan Belanak.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)The problems of coast ecosystem are natural resources damage, extinction of biological species, seawater intrusion, development of various diseases, and water pollution. Each year there is an increase in lead (Pb) level and unfortunately people consume aquatic biota that contains this heavy metal. Public perception towards environment also relates to their perception towards pollution.
The aim of this study is to know the Pb level in water, fish gills, liver; to know the cells damage in mullet gills and liver; to know the public perception concerning the Pb pollution; and to analyses the relationship among Pb level in water, fish gills, liver; the cells damage in mullet gills and liver; and the public perception concerning the Pb pollution in Segara Anakan Cilacap.
The study is conducted in between January and March 2013. The samples of water and the mullets are taken by purposive sampling from six different locations representing industrial areas, settlements, agricultural areas, and aquatic regions dominated by mangroves. On the other hand, the data of public perception is obtained by interview and questionnaire.
The result reveals that the level of Pb in water is between 0.186-1.84 µg/l, in the mullet gills is between 0.043-0.303 mg/kg, and the liver is between 0.100-0.628 mg/kg. In addition, the mullet gills (Mugil dusssumieri) are known to have bronchitis, congestion, and are supposed to contain parasites; whereas the liver is detected to degenerate, to have neurotic foci, perihepatitis virus, and necrosis but there are some gills and livers that do not have specific pathology. The Pb in Segara Anakan is influenced by the public unawareness of the heavy metal pollution because they only know that the pollution is caused by the presence of oil industry. Moreover, they do not even understand that the Pb has become the water contaminant that may affect the aquatic biota as well as the public health. The Pb level in waters, caused accumulation in the mullet gills and liver, and affected the damage of gills and liver of the mullets.
