| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang kemempanan ekstrak limbah cair nilam terhadap hama wereng batang coklat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemempanan ekstrak limbah cair tanaman nilam terhadap mortalitas wereng batang coklat, mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak limbah cair tanaman nilam terhadap jumlah telur yang diletakkan dan penetasan telur wereng batang coklat, serta mengetahui sifat repelensi ekstrak limbah cair nilam terhadap wereng batang coklat. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Desember 2012 di Laboratorium Perlindungan Tanaman bagian hama dan screen house Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBL) untuk uji kontak dan uji residu dengan 5 perlakuan (dosis 0 %, 2 %, 4 %, 6 % dan 10%) dan 5 ulangan, serta Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) untuk uji repelensi yang terdiri dari 2 perlakuan (dosis 0 % dan 10 %) dan 16 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak limbah cair nilam dengan dosis 10 % pada uji kontak paling efektif dalam membunuh wereng batang coklat sebesar 88 % dan uji residu pada dosis 10 % meletakkan telur paling sedikit yaitu 59 butir dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol yang mampu meletakkan telur terbanyak yaitu 115 butir. Pengujian sifat repelensi ekstrak limbah cair nilam menunjukkan bahwa jumlah wereng batang coklat lebih banyak mendekat pada kontrol sebanyak 65 ekor dibandingkan pada yang diberi perlakuan sebanyak 31 ekor.

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research studied the effectiveness of liquid patchouli waste extract against brown planthopper. These goals were to know toxicity of liquid patchouli waste extract, to reveal toxicity of liquid patchouli waste extract against fecundity and fertility of brown planthopper, and to know the repellence of the liquid patchouli waste extract against brown planthopper. The research was conducted in April until December 2012 at Laboratory of the Plant Protection in the pest section room and screen house, Agriculture Faculty, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. The experiment design used Latin Square Design (LSD) for contact and residual tests with 5 treatments (at doses 0, 2, 4, 6, and 10 %) and 5 replications, and Completely Randomized (CRD) to test repellence with 2 treatments (at doses 0 and 10 %) and 16 replications. The results showed that concentration of liquid patchouli waste extract at 10 % on contact test was the most effective killed 88 % of brown planthopper and residual test of liquid patchouli waste extract at 10 % could lay 59 eggs compared with control that produced the greatest quantity reaching 115 eggs. The repellence test of the liquid patchouli waste extract showed that the number of the adults brown planthopper wre more numerous approaching the control reaching 65 insects when the treatment that were 31 insects.
