Judul ArtikelEFEK PEMUASAAN SECARA PERIODIK TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN, EFISIENSI PAKAN, DAN IMUNITAS TUBUH IKAN MAS (Cyprinus carpio)
Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan pada benih ikan mas yang dipuasakan, pertumbuhan dan efisien pakan pada ikan mas terbaik, sintasan benih ikan mas yang dipuasakan dengan lama waktu berbeda, dan mengetahui ketahanan tubuh ikan yang dipuasakan terhadap infeksi bakteri Aeremonas hydrophila.
Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan yaitu: T0 (diberi pakan setiap hari), T1 (1 hari dipuasakan 6 hari diberi pakan), T2 (2 hari dipuasakan 5 hari diberi pakan), T3 (3 hari dipuasakan 4 hari diberi pakan), T4 (4 hari dipuasakan 3 hari diberi pakan). Setiap perlakuan di ulang sebanyak 5 kali. Pengambilan sempel dilakukan setiap satu minggu sekali, dilakukan selama 4 bulan penelitian dimulai dari bulan Oktober - Januari. Parameter yang diamati berupa pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup, efesiensi pakan, dan darah.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan perlakuan pemuasaan T1, dan T2 tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan benih (P>0,05), sedangkan pemuasaan T3 dan T4 secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan benih ikan mas (P<0,05). ikan mas yang dipuasakan 1, dan 2 hari mengalami pertumbuhan kompensatori complete, ikan mas yang dipuasakan 3 hari mengalami pertumbuhan kompensatori over, dipuasakan selama 4 hari terjadi pertumbuhan kompensatori parsial. Perlakuan pemuasaan T1, T2, T3 dan T4 secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap efesiensi pakan ikan mas efisiensi pakan tertinggi diperoleh pada benih ikan yang dipuasakan selama 3 hari (T3) diikuti T4, T2, T1 dan T0. Perlakuan pemuasaan T1, T2, T3 dan T4 tidak berpengaruh terhadap sintasan benih (P>0,05). Jumlah eritrosit tertinggi diperoleh pada benih ikan yang dipuasakan selama 2 hari (T2) diikuti T0, T1, T4 dan T3 signifikan (P<0,05). Deferensial leukosit secara signifikan (P<0,05). Deferensial leukosit yang paling banyak ditemukan dominan limfosit dibandingkan jenis leukosit lainya.
Berdasarkan hasil dapat disimpulkan pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan benih ikan mas meningkat pada saat ikan dipuasakan tiga (3) hari, pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan terbaik diperoleh dengan pemuasaan tiga (3) hari, sintasan benih ikan mas yang dipuasakan secara periodik tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05), Ketahanan tubuh benih ikan mas menujukkan bahwa ikan yang dipuasakan dapat meningkatkan kekebalan ikan. Pemuasaan tiga (3) hari dapat diterapkan dalam menejemen pemberian pakan dalam usaha pembesaran ikan mas sehingga dapat menekan biaya dan mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan.

Inggris)This study aims to know the growth and feed efficiency on common carp juveniles that fasting, the best of growth and feed efficiency on common carp juveniles, common carp survival rate that fasting by difference duration, and to know the immunity of common carp that fasting againts bacterial infections, Aeromonas hydrophila.
The study was conducted by using experimental methods applied completely randomized design (CRD) by five treatments: T0 (feed every day), T1 (1 day fasted, 6 days feed), T2 (2 days fasted, 5 days feed), T3 (3 day fasted, 4 days feed), T4 (4 days fasted, 3 days feed). Each treatment replication 5 times. The samples retrieval were done every once a week. The experiment were done for four months, from October 2012 – January 2013. The observed parameter were growth, survival rate, feed efficiency and blood.
The results showed the growth of fasted treatment, T1 and T2 does not affect the growth rate of common carp juveniles (P>0.05), while T3 and T4 has significantly affect the growth rate of common carp (P<0.05). Common carp that fasting for one and two days caused complete compensatory growth, common carp that fasting for 3 days caused over compensatory growth, common carp that fasting for 4 days caused partially compensatory growth occurs. The fasted treatments T1, T2, T3 and T4 were significantly affected feed efficiency on common carp. The highest feed efficiency obtained in common carp juveniles that fasting for 3 days (T3) and then followed by T4, T2, T1 and T0. The fasting treatments T1, T2, T3 and T4 do not affect survival rate of common carp juveniles (P>0.05). The highest number of erythrocytes found in common carp juveniles that fasting for 2 days (T2) and then followed by T0, T1, T4, T3 and T2 were significant different (P<0.05) compare to other treatment. Leukocyte differencial was significant different (P<0.05). Leukocyte differencial that most found abundantly were lymphocyte compare to other types of leukocyte.
As a conclucion, the growth and feed efficiency of common carp increasingd when common carp fasting for three (3) days, the best growth and feed efficiency obtained by three (3) days fasting, the survival rate of common carp juveniles that fasting periodically has no affect (P>0.05). The body immunity of common carp showed that fasting fish can increasing immunity. The three (3) days fasting may be applied in feeding management for common carp enlargement to pressure on costs and reduce environmental pollution.
