Indonesia) | Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk bertujuan menjelaskan bagaimana apartheid di Afrika Selatan yang dicerminkan dalam lirik “One” dan “Silver and Gold” yang dibawakan oleh band U2. Kata kunci: Apartheid, band U2, lirik, Afrika Selatan Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dimana data yang dianalisa berupa kata, frase, dan kalimat untuk analisa data, peneliti menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra untuk mencari tahu factor-faktor yang menyebabkan penulis memaparkan kondisi social pada masa apartheid di Afrika Selatan dalam lirik lagu “One” dan “Silver and Gold”. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Abstract The research was aimed to explain how the apartheid in South Africa is reflected in “One” and “Silver and Gold”. This research uses qualitative method in which the obtained data are written in the form of words, phrases, and sentences. For data analysis, the researcher applies the sociology of literature theory to find what factors causing the author express the social condition of apartheid in South Africa in “One” and “Silver and Gold” lyric. Keywords: Apartheid, U2 band, lyric, South Africa There are two results of this thesis, they are (1) in “One” lyric reflects about legally enforced segregation in South Africa based on skin color and describes about apartheid effects during apartheid era in South Africa; (2) the “Silver and Gold” lyric refers how the material affects apartheid happen in South Africa through the facts in journals and articles. |
