| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Crown and bridge adalah salah satu jenis perawatan untuk menggantikan satu atau lebih gigi yang hilang dan dilekatkan ke satu atau lebih gigi asli sebagai penyangga. Salah satu pemanfaatan kekayaan alam Indonesia yang potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai material crown and bridge adalah zirkonia dan silika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan adanya perbedaan karateristik morfologi dan kekerasan silika-zirkonia dengan matriks PMMA konsentrasi 50:50 (sampel A) dan konsentrasi 70:30 (sampel B). Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik morfologi sampel A tidak terdapat penggumpalan dan tidak ada celah antara filler dan matriks. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa matriks dan filler sudah dapat menyatu dengan baik dan bahan pengisi yaitu silika-zirkonia terdistribusi secara merata. Pada sampel B partikel tidak tersebar secara homogen sehingga menghasilkan aglomerasi atau penggumpalan serta terdapat celah. Sampel A memiliki nilai kekerasan rata-rata 15,02 VHN, sedangkan sampel B 11,20 VHN. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan karakteristik morfologi dan kekerasan silika-zirkonia dengan matriks PMMA konsentrasi 50:50 dan 70:30. Nilai rata-rata kedua sampel masih kurang mendekati nilai kekerasan dentin, artinya hasil sintesis dengan nilai kekerasan tersebut belum dapat diaplikasikan sebagai material crown and bridge, sehingga diperlukan penelitian selanjutnya untuk mendapatkan nilai kekerasan yang diinginkan, yaitu kekerasan yang mendekati dentin. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Crown and bridge is one type of treatment to replace one or more missing teeth and is attached to one or more teeth as a abutment. Zirconia and silica is a potentially material from Indonesia’s natural resources that can be developed as a crown and bridge. Consequently, the purpose of this research was to proved the difference in morphological characteristics and hardness of silica-zirconia materials with PMMA matrix concentration of 50:50 (sample A) and the concentration of 70:30 (sample B). The type of research was laboratory experimental. The results showed morphological characteristics sample A was not agglomeration and gap between the filler and matrix. This showed that the matrix and filler were able to fused well and the filler were silica-zirconia evenly distributed. On sample B, particles were not dispersed homogeneously so produce agglomeration. Sample A has an average hardness value of 15,02 VHN, while sample B has an average hardness value of 11,20 VHN. Accordingly, the conclusion of this research is that there were difference in morphological characteristics and hardness of silica-zirconia with PMMA matrix concentration of 50:50 and 70:30. The average value of the two samples were less close dentin hardness value, that means the results of the synthesis with the hardness value could not be applied as a crown and bridge material, so further research is needed to obtain the desired hardness value, that is the hardness approached dentin. |
