| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan suhu daerah perakaran yang terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil benih kentang di dataran medium, dan membandingkan sistem hidroponik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil benih kentang di dataran medium. Penelitian dilaksanakan di screen house di Desa Karangmangu, Kecamatan Baturaden, Kabupaten Banyumas, dari bulan Agustus sampai Oktober 2012. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang dicoba meliputi: kontrol, suhu pendinginan nutrisi 15 °C, suhu pendinginan nutrisi 19 °C, dan suhu pendinginan nutrisi 24 °C. Variabel yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang akar terpanjang, bobot segar dan kering tanaman, bobot segar dan kering akar, jumlah dan bobot umbi per tanaman, serta diameter umbi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu rata-rata harian larutan nutrisi perlakuan kontrol dan suhu pendinginan nutrisi 24 °C lebih tinggi 0,9 °C dibandingkan suhu daerah perakaran, sedangkan suhu rata-rata harian larutan nutrisi 15 dan 19 °C lebih rendah berturut-turut sebesar 4,3 dan 1,7 °C dibandingkan suhu daerah perakaran. Perlakuan untuk mendapatkan jumlah umbi terbanyak adalah sistem aeroponik tanpa pendinginan (kontrol) dengan rata-rata jumlah umbi sebesar 4,63 knol umbi/tanaman. Sistem aeroponik menghasilkan jumlah umbi per tanaman lebih banyak daripada sistem hidroponik substrat. Secara umum, pertumbuhan dan hasil benih kentang terbaik pada sistem aeroponik suhu pendinginan larutan nutrisi 19 °C dengan rata-rata jumlah umbi sebesar 4,37 knol umbi/tanaman. |

Inggris) | Research was aimed to get the best root-zone temperature on growth and yield of seed potatoes in medium altitude, and compare the hydroponic system on growth and yield of seed potatoes in medium altitude. The Research was conducted in the screen house at Karangmangu Village, Baturaden District, Banyumas Regency, started from August to October 2012. Randomized Block Design (RBD) was used with four treatments and three replicates. The treatments tested were control, nutrient cooling temperature of 15 °C, nutrient cooling temperature of 19 °C, and nutrient cooling temperature of 24 °C. The variable observed were crop height, number of leaves, the longest root length, fresh and dry weight of crop, fresh and dry weight of root, number and weight of tubers per crop, and tubers diameter. The result of the research showed that the average daily temperature of nutrient solution in the control treatment and nutrient cooling temperature of 24 °C is higher at 0.9 °C than the root-zone temperature, while the average daily temperature of the nutrient solution 15 and 19 ° C is lower at 4.3 and 1.7 °C continuously compared to the root-zone temperature. The treatment obtained the highest number of tubers is aeroponic system without cooling (control) with an average number of 4.63 knol tubers/crop. Aeroponic system produced the number of tubers per crop higher than hydroponic substrate system. In general, the growth and yield of the best seed potatoes is aeroponic system nutrient cooling temperature of 19 °C with an average number of 4.37 knol tubers/crop. |
