| Judul Artikel | Kinerja Usaha Peternakan Sapi Potong Sebelum dan Setelah Mengikuti Program Sarjana Membangun Desa (SMD) Periode 2008-2012 |

| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Tujuan penelitian adalah: (1) mengetahui kinerja usaha (aspek ekonomi, aspek teknis, dan aspek kelembagaan) peternakan sapi potong sebelum mengikuti program SMD, (2) mengetahui kinerja usaha (aspek ekonomi, aspek teknis, dan aspek kelembagaan) peternakan sapi potong setelah mengikuti Program SMD periode 2008-2012, dan (3) membandingkan kinerja usaha (aspek ekonomi, aspek teknis, dan aspek kelembagaan) peternakan sapi potong sebelum dan setelah mengikuti program SMD periode 2008-2012. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode survei. Penetapan sampel wilayah dipilih secara sengaja (purposive sampling) yaitu kelompok tani ternak sapi potong program SMD di Kabupaten Banyumas, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Cilacap, dan Kebumen. Kelompok yang diteliti sebanyak 74 kelompok (diterapkan secara sensus). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indikator keberhasilan program SMD dilihat dari pertambahan modal usaha, diversifikasi usaha, penerapan teknologi, perkembangan kelembagaan dan dijadikannya kelompok sebagai tempat magang menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan (P<0,05), sedangkan indikator keberhasilan program SMD dilihat dari penambahan populasi dan status kelas kelompok menunjukan hasil yang tidak signifikan (P>0,05). Secara umum tujuan Program SMD yaitu untuk transfer ilmu dan teknologi kepada peternak cukup sukses. |

Inggris) | The aim of this research are: 1) know the performance of the business beef cattle (economical, technical, and institutional aspects) before following SMD program. 2) know the performance of the business beef cattle (economical, technical, and institutional aspects) after following the SMD program period 2008-2012. and 3) compare the performance of the business beef cattle (economic, technical, and institutional aspects) before and after following the SMD program period 2008-2012. This research using survey method. Sample areas was select using purposive sampling method, that is farmers group SMD in Banyumas, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara, Cilacap and Kebumen. Groups was studied 74 groups (applied census). The results of this research showed that success indicators of SMD program seen from the increase capital, diversification, technology implementation, institutional development, and make the group as a place to intern showed a significant difference (P<0.05), whereas success indicators of SMD program seen from the addition population and status class groups showed no significant results (P>0.05). The conclusion of this research is general aim of SMD program to transfer knowledge and technology to farmers is quite successful. |
