| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya penggunaan TikTok sebagai sumber informasi mengenai produk skincare, termasuk melalui konten review pada akun @dokterdetektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis resepsi pengikut terhadap konten review skincare @dokterdetektif berdasarkan Teori Encoding Decoding Stuart Hall serta mengidentifikasi faktor yang memengaruhi posisi resepsi. Penelitian menggunakan paradigma konstruktivis, pendekatan kualitatif, dan metode analisis resepsi. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap delapan informan berusia 18-24 tahun, yang terdiri atas enam pengikut aktif dan dua penonton non-pengikut sebagai kelompok pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga posisi resepsi, yaitu satu informan pada posisi dominan, lima pada posisi negosiasi, dan dua pada posisi oposisi. Posisi dominan ditunjukkan melalui penerimaan data laboratorium dan informasi BPOM sebagai kebenaran yang relative final. Posisi negosiasi muncul melalui penerimaan substansi ilmiah disertai pertimbangan metodologis, etis-kontekstual, motif dan dampak sosial, serta nada dan gaya komunikasi. Posisi oposisi muncul pada kode narasi dan evaluatif, meskipun kedua informan tetap mengakui validitas data laboratorium dan BPOM. Posisi resepsi dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang pendidikan dan pekerjaan, pengalaman pribadi dengan skincare, interaksi kolom komentar sebagai ruang co-decoding, serta durasi dan intensitas konsumsi konten. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konten berbasis data ilmiah berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan literasi konsumen skincare, tetapi pemaknaannya tetap aktif, kontekstual, dan tidak seragam. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research is motivated by the increasing use of TikTok as a source of information about skincare products, including review content on the @dokterdetektif account. This study aims to analyze the audience reception of skincare review content on @dokterdetektif based on Stuart Hall’s Encoding-Decoding Theory and to identify the factors that influence audience reception positions. This study employs a constructivist paradigm, a qualitative approach, and reception analysis. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with eight informants aged 18-24 years, consisting of six active followers and two non-follower viewers as a comparison group. The findings reveal three reception positions: one informant in the dominant position, five in the negotiated position, and two in the oppositional position. The dominant position is demonstrated through the acceptance of laboratory data and BPOM information as relatively final truths. The negotiated position is reflected in the acceptance of the scientific substance accompanied by methodological, ethical-contextual, motive and social impact, as well as communication tone and style considerations. The oppositional position emerges in relation to the narrative and evaluative codes, although both informants still acknowledge the validity of laboratory data and BPOM information. Audience reception positions are influenced by educational and occupational backgrounds, personal experiences with skincare, interactions in the comment section as a space for co-decoding, as well as the duration and intensity of content consumption. The study concludes that scientific data-based content contributes to improving skincare consumer literacy, but its meaning remains active, contextual, and non-uniform.
