Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Aeromonas hydrophila merupakan bakteri patogen yang sering menyerang ikan air tawar dan menyebabkan penyakit Motile Aeromonad Septicemia (MAS). Pengendalian bakteri ini umumnya menggunakan bahan kimia atau antibiotik, namun penggunaannya dapat menimbulkan resistensi terhadap bakteri serta pencemaran lingkungan. Eco-enzyme merupakan hasil fermentasi limbah organik yang berpotensi digunakan sebagai alternatif antibakteri alami yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek daya hambat terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri dan dosis yang paling efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri. Penelitian dilakukan secara ekperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Konsentrasi Eco-enzyme yang digunakan 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. Uji daya hambat dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata diameter zona hambat yang diperoleh pada konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, serta kontrol positif berturut-turut sebesar 1,67 mm, 4,83 mm, 5,50 mm, 7,33 mm, dan 26,50 mm. Sedangkan kontrol negatif tidak memiliki zona hambat (0,00 mm). Hasil uji fitokimia mengidentifikasi adanya senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa tanin dan flavonoid pada Eco-enzyme. Eco-enzyme berbahan dasar limbah buah jeruk terbukti memiliki daya antibakteri terhadap Aeromonas hydrophila, dengan konsentrasi 75% sebagai perlakuan yang paling efektif dengan diameter zona hambat sebesar 5,50 ± 1,80 mm.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Aeromonas hydrophila is a pathogenic bacterium that frequently infects freshwater fish and causes Motile Aeromonad Septicemia (MAS). Control of this bacterium typically involves the use of chemicals or antibiotics; however, their use can lead to bacterial resistance and environmental pollution. Eco-enzymes, produced through the fermentation of organic waste, have the potential to serve as a more environmentally friendly natural antibacterial alternative. This study aims to determine the inhibitory effect on bacterial growth and the most effective dose for inhibiting bacterial growth. The study was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replicates. The concentrations of eco-enzyme used were 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The inhibitory activity test was performed using the well diffusion method. The results showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zones obtained at concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, as well as the positive control, were 1.67 mm, 4.83 mm, 5.50 mm, 7.33 mm, and 26.50 mm, respectively. Meanwhile, the negative control showed no inhibition zone (0.00 mm). Phytochemical analysis identified the presence of secondary metabolites, namely tannins and flavonoids, in the eco-enzyme. The citrus fruit waste-based Eco-enzyme was shown to possess antibacterial activity against Aeromonas hydrophila, with the 75% concentration proving to be the most effective treatment, yielding an inhibition zone diameter of 5.50 ± 1.80 mm.
