Judul ArtikelEfek Indeks Massa Tubuh Terhadap Kualitas Computed Tomography Angiography Kepala Berdasarkan Signal to Noise Ratio dan Noise Power Spectrum (Studi Kasus: RSUD Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto)
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Differences in Body Mass Index (BMI) are thought to affect the quality of head Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) images due to changes in X-ray attenuation levels that can increase image noise. However, the effect of BMI on image quality based on Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and Noise Power Spectrum (NPS) parameters still needs to be studied. This study aims to determine the SNR and NPS values in different BMI categories and analyze the effect of BMI on the quality of head CTA images. The study used a quantitative method with an analytical observational approach and a cross-sectional design on 20 patients undergoing head CTA examinations at Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Purwokerto Regional General Hospital. Samples were grouped into underweight, normal, overweight, and obesity categories. Image quality analysis was performed using IndoQCT software through SNR and NPS measurements. The results showed that the average SNR values in the underweight, normal, overweight, and obesity groups were 2.49; 2.08; 1.87; and 1.87, respectively. NPS analysis showed a relatively similar spectral pattern across all BMI categories, with higher NPS values at lower spatial frequencies and decreasing at higher frequencies. Furthermore, the Integral NPS values varied between patients without a consistent association pattern across BMI categories. It can be concluded that BMI is associated with head CTA image quality primarily based on the SNR parameter, while the NPS parameter exhibited relatively consistent noise characteristics across BMI categories. Therefore, BMI needs to be considered in optimizing examination parameters to obtain optimal image quality.
