| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Acridotheres melanopterus tricolor merupakan burung dengan informasi mengenai profil populasi serta variasi morfologi dan morfometri yang masih terbatas, sementara data tersebut diperlukan untuk memahami struktur umur, perbedaan jenis kelamin, serta kondisi adaptasi individu dalam populasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi profil populasi A. m. tricolor di Taman Nasional Baluran berdasarkan struktur umur dan jenis kelamin, serta menganalisis variasi morfologi dan morfometri antar individu. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari hingga Juli 2026 menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan line transect distance sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara non-invasive menggunakan metode fotomorfometri, yaitu pengukuran karakter tubuh melalui visual digital tanpa kontak langsung dengan satwa. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi jumlah individu, karakter morfologi dan morfometrik, serta faktor lingkungan biotik dan abiotik. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan statistik menggunakan Principal Component Analysis (PCA), dan Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 46 individu A. m. tricolor yang tersebar pada 3 stasiun di Taman Nasional Baluran. Populasi didominasi oleh individu dewasa, sedangkan individu anakan dan remaja tidak ditemukan selama periode penelitian. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin, populasi terdiri atas 27 individu jantan dan 19 individu betina dengan rasio 1,42:1. Analisis PCA menunjukkan adanya variasi morfologi dalam populasi yang ditandai oleh pola sebaran individu jantan dan betina yang berbeda, meskipun masih terdapat area overlap yang menunjukkan adanya kemiripan karakter morfologi pada sebagian individu. Variasi morfologi tersebut berkaitan dengan karakter performa berupa keberadaan jambul, warna skapula, warna eye ring, serta warna bulu pada bagian lesser coverts, median coverts, dan greater coverts, serta karakter morfometri berupa rasio tinggi kepala terhadap panjang total (TK/PT) dan rasio lebar eye ring terhadap lebar kepala (LER/LK). A. m. tricolor ditemukan pada habitat Savana Bekol, hutan musim, dan Savana Derbus yang memiliki karakteristik area terbuka dengan kondisi lingkungan yang relatif serupa. Analisis CCA menunjukkan bahwa ketinggian dan persentase tutupan lahan merupakan faktor yang paling berasosiasi dengan keberadaan A. m. tricolor, sehingga preferensi habitatnya diduga lebih dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik habitat dibandingkan variasi temperatur, kelembapan udara, dan intensitas cahaya. Secara keseluruhan, populasi A. m. tricolor di Taman Nasional Baluran didominasi oleh individu dewasa dengan jumlah individu jantan lebih banyak dibandingkan betina. Subspesies ini menunjukkan variasi morfologi dan morfometri antarindividu serta memiliki preferensi serta memiliki preferensi terhadap habitat yang menyediakan sumber daya penting bagi kelangsungan hidupnya. Penelitian ini memberikan informasi dasar mengenai populasi, variasi morfologi, dan karakter habitat A. m. tricolor di Taman Nasional Baluran sebagai bahan pendukung upaya konservasi subspesies tersebut. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Acridotheres melanopterus tricolor is a bird subspecies for which information on population profile as well as morphological and morphometric variation remains limited. Such information is important for understanding age structure, sexual dimorphism, and individual variation within the population. This study aimed to identify the population profile of A. m. tricolor in Baluran National Park based on age and sex structure, and to analyze morphological and morphometric variations among individuals. The study was conducted from January to July 2026 using a survey method with a line transect distance sampling approach. Data collection was carried out using a non-invasive photomorphometric method, which involved measuring body characteristics from digital images without direct contact with the bird. The collected data included the number of individuals, morphological and morphometric characteristics, as well as biotic and abiotic environmental factors. Data were analyzed using descriptive and statistical approaches, including Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA). The results showed that 46 individuals of A. m. tricolor were recorded across 3 stations in Baluran National Park. The population was dominated by adult individuals, while juveniles and sub-adults were not observed during the study period. Based on sex composition, the population consisted of 27 males and 19 females, with a sex ratio of 1.42:1. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) revealed morphological variation within the population, indicated by different distribution patterns between males and females, although an overlapping area was observed, suggesting similarities in morphological characteristics among some individuals. These morphological variations were associated with performance traits, including crest presence, scapular coloration, eye-ring coloration, and plumage coloration on the lesser coverts, median coverts, and greater coverts, as well as morphometric traits, including the head height to total length ratio (HH/TL) and eye-ring width to head width ratio (ERW/HW). A. m. tricolor was found in Bekol Savanna, seasonal forest, and Derbus Savanna, which are characterized by open habitats with relatively similar environmental conditions. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) indicated that elevation and land cover percentage were the environmental factors most strongly associated with the occurrence of A. m. tricolor. Therefore, habitat preference of this subspecies is presumed to be influenced more by habitat characteristics than by variations in temperature, air humidity, and light intensity. Overall, the population of A. m. tricolor in Baluran National Park was dominated by adult individuals, with males occurring in greater numbers than females. This subspecies exhibited inter-individual variation in morphological and morphometric characteristics and showed habitat preferences for areas that provide important resources for its survival. This study provides baseline information on the population structure, morphological variation, and habitat characteristics of A. m. tricolor in Baluran National Park to support future conservation efforts for this subspecies. |
