| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Budidaya udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) sering menghadapi kendala penyakit bakteri, terutama Vibrio parahaemolyticus penyebab Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) farming often faces bacterial disease challenges, particularly Vibrio parahaemolyticus, the causative agent of Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND). Continuous antibiotic use risks inducing bacterial resistance, necessitating alternatives such as herbal-based immunostimulants. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Product A (a combination of Andrographis paniculata and Origanum vulgare extracts) and Product B (a combination of Andrographis paniculata and Rhizoma coptidis extracts) on the nonspecific immune response of vaname shrimp. The study employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 14 treatments and three replications. Shrimp were reared for 30 days and fed diets containing the herbal products at various doses, followed by observations of total hemocyte count (THC), differential hemocyte count (DHC), phagocytic activity (PA), phagocytic index (PI), and survival rate (SR) after challenge testing with V. parahaemolyticus. Results showed that both products enhanced the shrimp's immune response compared to the control. The highest THC values were obtained in treatment A4 (8 mL/kg feed) at 2.48×10⁷ cells/mL and B4 (10 mL/kg feed) at 2.18×10⁷ cells/mL, with the highest PA and PI also observed in these treatments. Following the challenge test, A4 and B4 produced the highest survival rates at 67%, compared to 27% in the positive control. These findings indicate that the herbal extract combinations in both products have potential as natural immunostimulants to enhance vaname shrimp resistance against bacterial infection. |
