Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Ekosistem lamun di Pulau Panjang, Jepara berpotensi menyimpan karbon biru dalam jumlah besar melalui biomassa dan sedimen lamun. Tingginya aktivitas wisata dan berbagai tekanan antropogenik berpotensi memengaruhi kemampuan lamun dalam menyimpan karbon pada biomassa maupun sedimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis stok karbon biomassa dan sedimen lamun serta keterkaitannya dengan kondisi lingkungan perairan di Pulau Panjang, Jepara. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara random sampling. Analisis kandungan karbon biomassa dan sedimen dilakukan dengan metode Loss on Ignition (LOI), sedangkan keterkaitan stok karbon dengan kondisi lingkungan dianalisis menggunakan analisi multivariat Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) dan Canonical Discriminant Analysis (CDA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Pulau Panjang memiliki empat spesies lamun, yaitu Thalassia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Halodule uninervis, dan Cymodocea rotundata, dengan nilai kerapatan berkisar 10,85 ± 7,79 hingga 37,44 ± 2,02 ind/m² dan persentase tutupan sebesar 60,56–74,83% yang termasuk kategori sehat. Rata-rata stok karbon biomassa lamun sebesar 1,31 Mg C/ha, sedangkan rata-rata stok karbon sedimen sebesar 103,51 Mg C/ha yang menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar karbon tersimpan pada sedimen. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan bahwa kerapatan lamun, tutupan lamun, salinitas, pH sedimen, suhu, dan karakteristik sedimen merupakan faktor utama yang memengaruhi variasi stok karbon sedimen, sedangkan DO, TDS, ORP, dan EC memberikan pengaruh yang relatif lebih rendah.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)The seagrass ecosystem in Panjang Island, Jepara, has considerable potential to store large amounts of blue carbon in seagrass biomass and sediments. Increasing tourism activities and various anthropogenic pressures may affect the capacity of seagrass ecosystems to sequester and store carbon. This study aimed to analyze carbon stocks in seagrass biomass and sediments and to examine their relationship with environmental conditions in the waters of Pulau Panjang, Jepara. Data were collected using a purposive sampling method with random quadrat placement. Carbon content in seagrass biomass and sediments was analyzed using the Loss on Ignition (LOI) method, while the relationship between carbon stocks and environmental variables was assessed using Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) and Canonical Discriminant Analysis (CDA). The results showed that four seagrass species were identified in Pulau Panjang, namely Thalassia hemprichii, Enhalus acoroides, Halodule uninervis, and Cymodocea rotundata, with seagrass density ranging from 10.85 ± 7.79 to 37.44 ± 2.02 shoots m⁻² and seagrass cover ranging from 60.56% to 74.83%, indicating a healthy seagrass ecosystem. The average carbon stock in seagrass biomass was 1.31 Mg C ha⁻¹, whereas the average sediment carbon stock reached 103.51 Mg C ha⁻¹, indicating that most carbon was stored in the sediment. The multivariate analyses revealed that seagrass density, seagrass cover, salinity, sediment pH, temperature, and sediment characteristics were more strongly associated with variations in sediment carbon stocks, whereas dissolved oxygen (DO), total dissolved solids (TDS), oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and electrical conductivity (EC) showed weaker associations
