| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Register adalah salah satu variasi bahasa yang digunakan dalam situasi tertentu untuk mencapai tujuan komunikasi tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis register dan menganalisis fungsi-fungsi bahasa dalam permainan 99 Nights in the Forest. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dari istilah-istilah obrolan dalam permainan 99 Nights in the Forest. Teori Martin Joos (1967) digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis register, sedangkan teori Halliday (1975) digunakan untuk menganalisis fungsi bahasa. Peneliti menemukan tiga jenis register: kasual, intim, dan konsultatif, dengan total 39 data yang terbagi menjadi 33 register kasual (84,62%), 3 register konsultatif (7,69%), dan 3 register intim (7,69%). Peneliti juga menemukan lima fungsi bahasa: interaksional, heuristik, personal, informatif, dan regulatif, dengan 39 data yang terbagi menjadi 16 fungsi interaksional (41,03%), 8 fungsi heuristik (20,51%), 7 fungsi personal (17,95%), 4 fungsi informatif (10,26%), dan 4 fungsi regulatif (10,26%). Jenis register yang paling sering digunakan adalah register kasual (84,62%), sedangkan fungsi bahasa yang paling sering digunakan adalah fungsi interaksional (41,03%). Peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengeksplorasi sumber data yang lebih luas, atau game lain di Roblox maupun Mobile Legends. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Register is one of the language varieties used in certain situations to reach a specific communication goal. This research aims to identify the types of registers and analyze the functions of language in the game 99 Nights in the Forest. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The data comes from chat terms in the game 99 Nights in the Forest. Martin Joos's theory (1967) is used to identify the types of register, and Halliday's theory (1975) is used to analyze the function of language. The researcher found three types of register: casual, intimate, and consultative, with a total of 39 data divided into 33 casual register (84.62%), 3 consultative register (7.69%), and 3 intimate register (7.69%). The researcher also found five functions of language: interactional, heuristic, personal, informative, and regulatory, with 39 data divided into 16 interactional functions (41.03%), 8 heuristic functions (20.51%), 7 personal functions (17.95%), 4 informative functions (10.26%), and 4 regulatory functions (10.26%). The most used type of register is casual register (84.62%), and the most used function of language is interactional function (41.03%). Future researchers are advised to explore a wider range of data sources or another game in Roblox or Mobile Legends. |
