| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini menganalisis resepsi Generasi Z terhadap diskursus childfree sebagai pilihan hidup dalam video dokumenter "SEPAK TERJANG CHILDFREE" produksi Watchdoc Image di YouTube. Fenomena ini memicu pro-kontra di Indonesia yang berkultur pro-natalis. Generasi Z dipilih sebagai khalayak karena aktif secara digital dan berpikir kritis. Menggunakan metode kualitatif berparadigma konstruktivisme dengan pendekatan Analisis Resepsi encoding-decoding Stuart Hall, penelitian ini melibatkan 7 mahasiswa Universitas Jenderal Soedirman sebagai informan yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling variasi maksimum. Data dikumpulkan via wawancara mendalam, observasi nonpartisipan, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penerimaan informan terhadap childfree sangat beragam dan dinamis. Mayoritas informan berada pada posisi negosiasi, di mana mereka menyetujui hak otonomi tubuh, namun tetap mempertimbangkan norma sosial, agama, dan kesiapan tanggung jawab. Sementara itu, sebagian informan menempati posisi dominan karena menilai keputusan tersebut logis demi tuntutan profesi dan realitas ekonomi. Kesimpulannya, proses decoding Generasi Z bersifat kontekstual, yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang sosial-budaya, ekonomi, pola asuh, keilmuan, dan pengalaman personal mereka. |

Inggris) | This study analyzes Generation Z's reception of the childfree discourse as a lifestyle choice in the documentary video "SEPAK TERJANG CHILDFREE" produced by Watchdoc Image on YouTube. This phenomenon has sparked pros and cons in Indonesia, a country with a strong pro-natalist culture. Generation Z was selected as the audience due to their digital literacy and critical thinking skills. Using a qualitative method within a constructivist paradigm and employing Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding Reception Analysis approach, this study involved 7 students from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman as informants, selected through maximum variation purposive sampling. Data were collected via in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model. The results show that the informants' reception of the childfree lifestyle is highly diverse and dynamic. The majority of informants occupy a negotiated position, where they agree with the right to bodily autonomy but continue to consider social norms, religion, and readiness for responsibility. Meanwhile, some informants occupy a dominant position because they view the decision as logical in response to professional demands and economic realities. In conclusion, Generation Z's decoding process is highly contextual, heavily influenced by their socio-cultural background, economy, upbringing, academic discipline, and personal experiences. |
