| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Kemandirian merupakan bekal mahasiswa untuk menghadapi tantangan dan rintangan selama perkuliahan. Namun, fenomena di lapangan menunjukkan tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa masih tergolong rendah hingga sedang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh orang tua dengan tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa FISIP Unsoed. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan jumlah sempel sebesar 275 mahasiswa angkatan 2024 yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus slovin dengan taraf kesalahan sebesar 5%. Data didapatkan melalui hasil kuesioner dan wawancara kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi Square, Contingency Coefficient, tabel distribusi frekuensi, dan tabel silang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola asuh yang banyak digunakan oleh orang tua mahasiswa adalah adalah pola asuh demokratis. Tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa tergolong tinggi terlihat dari beberapa hal seperti; kemampuan mengambil keputusan, kemampuan mengatasi masalah, manajemen waktu, dan tanggung jawab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa FISIP Unsoed. Hipotesis pada penelitian ini yang berbunyi “terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh orang tua dengan tingkat kemandirian mahasiswa FISIP Unsoed” diterima. Namun nilai contingency coefficient termasuk ke dalam kategori lemah. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Independence is a prerequisite for students to face challenges and obstacles during their studies. However, observations in the field show that the level of independence among students is still low to moderate. This study aims to determine the relationship between parenting styles and the level of independence among students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Jenderal Soedirman. The method used was a survey method with a sample size of 275 students from the 2024 batch, determined using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 5%. The data was obtained through questionnaires and interviews and then analyzed using the Chi Square test, Contingency Coefficient, frequency distribution table, and cross table. The results showed that the most common parenting style used by the students' parents was democratic parenting. The students' level of independence was relatively high, as seen in several aspects, such as decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, time management, and responsibility. The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between parenting styles and the level of independence of FISIP Unsoed students. The hypothesis in this study, which states that “there is a significant relationship between parenting styles and the level of independence of FISIP Unsoed students,” is accepted. However, the contingency coefficient value is classified as weak. |
