| Judul Artikel | POLA KOMUNIKASI VIRTUAL DALAM SQUAD LADIES LYNETTE PADA GAMES ONLINE MOBILE LEGENDS: BANG BANG |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The online gaming industry in Indonesia, particularly Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), has shifted into a massive cultural phenomenon accompanied by a significant increase in the number of female players. This phenomenon has triggered the formation of "Squad Ladies" as a safe space for women to avoid toxic behavior and discrimination in the predominantly masculine e-sports environment. This research aims to dissect the formation process of cohesive virtual communication patterns within Squad Ladies Lynette amidst the use of multiple communication platforms such as WhatsApp, Discord, and in-game chat. Employing a qualitative method with a virtual ethnography (netnography) approach, data were collected through virtual participant observation and in-depth interviews with three key informants representing the roles of team captain, senior member, and new member. Data analysis was conducted using the theoretical frameworks of Social Information Processing (SIP) and Social Identity Deindividuation Effect (SIDE). The findings reveal "Lynette's Adaptive Communication Pattern," which operates dynamically in a four-phase cycle: pre-game, in-game, post-game, and relational. The adaptation of social cues through digital symbols and the internalization of collective identity as female gamers are proven to shape communication patterns that balance tactical coordination efficiency through centralized patterns and the reinforcement of social solidarity through decentralized patterns. |
