| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan ChatGPT dalam Kelas Menulis Berbasis Genre A, Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Jenderal Soedirman pada Tahun Akademik 2024/2025. Untuk menentukan sampel, peneliti menggunakan teknik sampling purposif untuk memilih mahasiswa. Penelitian ini fokus pada efektivitas, implementasi, persepsi mahasiswa, serta manfaat dan kelemahan penggunaan ChatGPT terhadap kemampuan menulis mereka. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berdasarkan Zhai (2022), Teng (2024), dan Dvivedi dkk. (2023). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental satu kelompok pretest-posttest. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan pretest dan posttest, kuesioner, dan observasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan statistik inferensial, analisis deskriptif, dan statistik deskriptif untuk menganalisis data. Hasil analisis pretest dan posttest menggunakan paired-sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikan (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0.000, yang lebih rendah dari tingkat signifikansi 0.05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ChatGPT secara signifikan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa dalam Kelas Menulis Berbasis Genre A. Hasil kuesioner juga menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa setuju bahwa ChatGPT meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang konsep genre, termasuk struktur teks, fitur bahasa, dan tujuan komunikatif. Pengamatan lebih lanjut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ChatGPT meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, partisipasi aktif, dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam menulis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ChatGPT sebagai variabel independen memiliki efektivitas terhadap kemampuan menulis siswa sebagai variabel dependen. |

Inggris) | This research is quantitative research that aims to examine the effectiveness of using ChatGPT in Genre-Based Writing Class A, English Language Education Study Program in Jenderal Soedirman University Academic Year 2024/2025. To determine the sample, the researcher used purposive sampling techniques to determine the students. This research focuses on the effectiveness, implementation, students’ perception, and the benefits and drawbacks of using ChatGPT to their writing. The theories used in this research based on Zhai (2022), Teng (2024) and Dvivedi, et al (2023). This research used a quantitative approach with pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. In collecting data, the researcher used pre-test and post test, questionnaire, and observation. This research used inferential statistics, descriptive analysis, and descriptive statistics to analyze the data. Fingdings from pre-test and post-test analyze by paired-sample t-test showed that the significant value (Sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000, which is lower than the significant level of 0.05. This indicates that the use of ChatGPT is significantly effective in improving students’ writing in Genre-Based Writing Class A. Following by the results of questionnaire revealed most students agreed that ChatGPT enchanced their understanding of genre concepts, including text structure, language features, and communicative purposes. Observation further confirmed that the use of ChatGPT make students engangement, active participation, and improving students confident in writing. This indicates that the use of ChatGPT as the independent variable have the effectiveness of students’ writing as dependent variable. |
