Transformator tenaga merupakan komponen vital dalam sistem tenaga listrik yang berfungsi menjaga keandalan penyaluran energi. Namun, salah satu permasalahan utama pada transformator adalah penurunan umur pakai akibat pengaruh suhu operasional yang tinggi. Suhu berlebih dapat mempercepat proses penuaan isolasi, sehingga mengurangi keandalan dan memperpendek masa operasional transformator. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh variasi suhu operasional terhadap susut umur transformator tenaga 5 di Gardu Induk 150 kV Kalibakal Purwokerto. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi variasi suhu operasional, menghitung susut umur akibat suhu, serta mengestimasi sisa umur transformator berdasarkan standar internasional.
Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan perhitungan berbasis standar IEC 60076-7 tentang Loading Guide for OilImmersed Power Transformers. Data yang digunakan meliputi spesifikasi transformator, data operasi harian (beban, suhu minyak, dan suhu hotspot), serta data suhu lingkungan. Analisis dilakukan melalui perhitungan faktor beban, kenaikan suhu minyak (top-oil), kenaikan suhu hotspot, serta perhitungan Loss of Life (LOL) untuk mengetahui percepatan penuaan isolasi. Dari hasil perhitungan LOL, dilakukan estimasi sisa umur transformator dibandingkan umur rancangannya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di GI Kalibakal selama periode September–November 2025.

Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Power transformers are critical components in the electrical power system, ensuring reliable energy transmission and distribution. However, one of the main challenges in their operation is the reduction of service life caused by excessive operational temperature. Elevated temperatures accelerate insulation aging, thereby reducing transformer reliability and shortening its operational lifespan. This research aims to analyze the impact of operational temperature variations on the life loss of Power Transformer 5 at the 150 kV Kalibakal Substation in Purwokerto. The objectives are to examine temperature variation conditions, calculate the life loss due to temperature effects, and estimate the remaining life of the transformer based on international standards.
The study employed a quantitative approach using calculations based on IEC 60076-7 standards (Loading Guide for Oil-Immersed Power Transformers). The data used included transformer specifications, daily operation records (load, top-oil temperature, and hotspot temperature), as well as environmental temperature data. The analysis covered load factor calculation, top-oil temperature rise, hotspot temperature rise, and the determination of Loss of Life (LOL) to evaluate insulation aging acceleration. Based on LOL values, the remaining life of the transformer was estimated and compared with its design life. The research was conducted at Kalibakal Substation over the period of September–November 2025.
The results indicate that operational temperature variations significantly influence transformer life loss. The annual LOL value obtained reveals that the transformer experiences faster aging compared to its 30-year design life. The estimated remaining life of Transformer 5 at Kalibakal Substation is still within a safe operational range, although further evaluations are required, particularly during peak loads and high ambient temperature conditions. Therefore, this study provides valuable insights for PLN to develop maintenance, operation, and replacement strategies to enhance power system reliability.
