Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini membahas faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perilaku konsumsi mahasiswa
dalam menggunakan Shopee PayLater. Layanan ini banyak digunakan karena praktis
dan fleksibel, tetapi jika tidak dikontrol dapat menyebabkan perilaku konsumtif dan
masalah keuangan. Penelitian dilakukan pada 100 mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan
Bisnis Universitas Jenderal Soedirman dengan metode analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa literasi keuangan, gaya hidup, pengendalian diri, dan uang saku
secara bersama-sama memengaruhi perilaku konsumsi mahasiswa. Gaya hidup menjadi
faktor paling berpengaruh, di mana mahasiswa yang mengikuti tren cenderung lebih
boros. Pengendalian diri berpengaruh negatif, artinya semakin rendah pengendalian diri,
semakin tinggi pengeluaran. Uang saku berpengaruh positif karena mahasiswa dengan
uang saku lebih besar cenderung lebih sering berbelanja. Sementara itu, literasi
keuangan tidak berpengaruh signifikan dalam menekan perilaku konsumtif.
Kesimpulannya, perilaku konsumsi mahasiswa lebih dipengaruhi oleh gaya hidup,
pengendalian diri, dan kondisi keuangan dibandingkan dengan pengetahuan keuangan
saja.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)This study explores what influences students spending behavior when using Shopee
PayLater, a paylater service that is popular because it is easy and flexible. However, excessive use
can lead to overspending and financial problems, as shown by Indonesia’s rising non-performing
loan rate of 9.7% in 2023. The study surveyed 100 students from the Faculty of Economics and
Business at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman using quantitative regression analysis.The results show
that financial literacy, lifestyle, self-control, and allowance together affect students consumption
behavior, explaining 60% of the variation. Financial literacy does not significantly reduce impulsive
buying. Lifestyle is the strongest factor, with trend-following and pleasure-seeking students
spending more. Self-control has a negative effect, meaning weaker self-control leads to higher
spending. Allowance has a positive effect, as students with more pocket money tend to spend
more using Shopee PayLater. In conclusion, students spending behavior is influenced more by
lifestyle, social pressure, self-control, and income than by financial knowledge alone. The findings
suggest the need for better financial management awareness among students and stronger
financial education programs at universities.
