Indonesia) | Penyakit gigi dan mulut merupakan masalah kesehatan yang sering terjadi pada anak dengan prevalensi tinggi di Indonesia, namun deteksi dini masih terhambat oleh keterbatasan pengetahuan orang tua dan akses terhadap tenaga medis gigi. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem pakar berbasis website untuk diagnosis awal penyakit gigi dan mulut pada anak menggunakan metode forward chaining. Sistem dikembangkan dengan framework Laravel dan MySQL, melibatkan basis pengetahuan dari pakar Klinik Victory Purwokerto. Sistem mengidentifikasi 10 jenis penyakit berdasarkan 38 gejala yang direpresentasikan dalam aturan IF-THEN dengan struktur logika AND-OR. Mesin inferensi menerapkan lima teknik pruning untuk meningkatkan efisiensi diagnosis, mengurangi rata-rata pertanyaan menjadi 5-10 dari maksimal 38 gejala. Sistem melayani tiga kategori pengguna: administrator, pakar, dan klien dengan fungsi berbeda sesuai peran masing-masing. Pengujian black-box testing terhadap seluruh fitur menunjukkan semua skenario menghasilkan output sesuai harapan, memvalidasi sistem memenuhi kebutuhan fungsional yang ditetapkan. Sistem ini berfungsi sebagai alat bantu diagnosis awal untuk deteksi dini penyakit gigi dan mulut pada anak, meskipun tidak menggantikan pemeriksaan klinis langsung oleh dokter gigi profesional. |

Inggris) | Dental and oral diseases are common health problems among children with a high prevalence in Indonesia, but early detection is still hampered by limited parental knowledge and access to dental professionals. This study developed a website-based expert system for the initial diagnosis of dental and oral diseases in children using the forward chaining method. The system was developed with the Laravel framework and MySQL, involving a knowledge base from experts at the Victory Purwokerto Clinic. The system identifies 10 types of diseases based on 38 symptoms represented in IF-THEN rules with AND-OR logic structures. The inference engine applies five pruning techniques to improve diagnosis efficiency, reducing the average number of questions to 5-10 from a maximum of 38 symptoms. The system serves three categories of users: administrators, experts, and clients with different functions according to their respective roles. Black-box testing of all features showed that all scenarios produced expected outputs, validating that the system meets the defined functional requirements. This system serves as an initial diagnostic tool for early detection of dental and oral diseases in children, although it does not replace direct clinical examination by a professional dentist. |
