| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur kepribadian dan mekanisme pertahanan diri tokoh Manjiro Sano (Mikey) dalam film Toukyou Manji Ribenjaazu karya sutradara Tsutomu Hanabusa berdasarkan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi terhadap adegan, dialog, serta perilaku tokoh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur kepribadian Mikey cenderung didominasi oleh id, yang mendorong munculnya perilaku impulsif dan destruktif. Meskipun demikian, keberadaan ego dan superego tetap terlihat melalui pertimbangan moral, rasa bersalah, serta refleksi diri yang dialami tokoh tersebut dalam menghadapi konflik. Lebih lanjut, Mikey menunjukkan beberapa bentuk mekanisme pertahanan diri, yaitu represi, proyeksi, rasionalisasi, acting out, regresi, identifikasi dengan agresor, dan idealisasi. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan psikoanalisis efektif untuk mengungkap dinamika psikologis tokoh fiksi serta memperlihatkan kompleksitas struktur kepribadian manusia yang direpresentasikan melalui karakter dalam film. |

Inggris) | This research aims to examine the personality structure and defense mechanisms of the character Manjiro Sano (Mikey) in the film Toukyou Manji Ribenjaazu directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. Mikey is portrayed as a central character who experiences complex internal and external conflicts, particularly due to the trauma of losing loved ones and the pressure of being a gang leader. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through content analysis of scenes, dialogues, and character actions. The results of the study show that Mikey’s personality is largely dominated by the id, leading to destructive and impulsive behavior. However, elements of the ego and superego also appear through moral consideration, guilt, and self-reflection. The defense mechanisms exhibited by Mikey include repression, projection, rationalization, acting out, regression, identification with the aggressor, and idealization. This research demonstrates that the psychoanalytic approach is effective in uncovering the psychological dynamics of fictional characters as a reflection of human complexity. |
