Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Makroinvertebrata merupakan bioindikator penting untuk menilai kondisi ekologis
sungai. Penurunan kualitas air Sungai Logawa akibat aktivitas antropogenik
berpotensi memengaruhi komunitas makroinvertebrata. Penelitian ini bertujuan
mengkaji kondisi kualitas air Sungai Logawa berdasarkan indikator biologis
makroinvertebrata serta menganalisis korelasi antara parameter fisik-kimiawi
dengan tingkat pencemaran menggunakan Family Biotic Index (FBI). Penelitian
dilakukan pada delapan stasiun di bagian hulu dan tengah Sungai Logawa pada
Juli–September 2024. Parameter yang diukur meliputi suhu, oksigen terlarut (DO),
Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), dan Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). Hasil
penelitian menemukan 22 famili makroinvertebrata dari tujuh ordo yang didominasi
Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, dan Plecoptera. Nilai FBI di hulu sebesar 3,1 dan di
tengah 3,5 menunjukkan kualitas air sangat baik dengan pencemaran organik
rendah. Parameter suhu, DO, dan BOD memenuhi baku mutu, sedangkan COD
mendekati batas kelas III. Korelasi menunjukkan hubungan lemah dengan suhu,
DO, dan BOD, serta hubungan sedang dengan COD. Secara keseluruhan, Sungai
Logawa berada dalam kondisi ekologis baik.

rivers. The decline in water quality of the Logawa River due to anthropogenic activities has
the potential to affect macroinvertebrate communities. This study aimed to evaluate the water
quality of the Logawa River based on macroinvertebrate biological indicators and to analyze
the correlation between physicochemical parameters and pollution levels using the Family

Biotic Index (FBI). The research was conducted at eight stations representing the upstream
and middle sections of the river from July to September 2024. Measured parameters included
temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Chemical
Oxygen Demand (COD). A total of 22 macroinvertebrate families from seven orders were
recorded, dominated by Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, and Plecoptera. FBI values of 3.1
(upstream) and 3.5 (middle) indicated very good water quality with low organic pollution.
Temperature, DO, and BOD met the quality standards, while COD approached the Class III
threshold. Correlation analysis showed weak relationships of FBI with temperature, DO, and
BOD, and a moderate relationship with COD. Overall, the Logawa River remains in good
ecological condition.
