Indonesia) | Fokus dari penilitian ini adalah tentangkeefektifan penggunaan semantic mapping teknikdalampemahamanmembaca.Tujuandari penelitian ini adalah (1) Mengetahuitingkatkemampuanmembacasiswakelas XI SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap; (2) memberikaninformasitentangbagaimana semantic mapping digunakansebagaisalahsatuteknikuntukmeningkatkankemampuanmambacasiswakelas XI SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap; (3) mengetahuibagaimanakeefektifitasanpenggunaan semantic mapping teknikdalampengajaranmembacapadasiswakelas XI SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap; (4) mengetahuirespon guru dansiswaterhadappenggunaan semantic mapping teknik. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh darisiswakelas XI SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap. Peneliti menggunakan teknik purposivesampling.Jumlah seluruh siswa adalah 159 yang terdiri dari 5 kelas. 67 siswa dijadikan sebagai responden. Pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui test, kuesioner,observasidanwawancara.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukanpeningkatankemampuansiswadalampemahamanmembaca.Halitudapatdilihatdarihasil rata-rata grupeksperimen yang meningkatdari 6.01 pada pre test menjadi 7.33 pada post test. Hasil itu didukungdenganhasilkuisioner yang menunjukkanbahwasebagian besar siswa pada grupeksperimenlebihtertarik dan termotivasidalammembacamenggunakansemantic mapping. Berdasarkanhasildiatas, penggunaansemanticmappingmemberikanpengaruh yang baikdalammeningkatkankemampuansiswadalampemahamanmembaca. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The main concern of this research is about “The Effectiveness of Using Semantic Mapping as atechnique ofImproving Students’ Ability in Reading Comprehension. The purposes of this research are (1) to find out the reading competency of eleventh grade students in SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap; (2) to give more information about how the semantic mapping is used as a teaching technique to enrich the eleventh grade students at SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap in improving reading comprehension; (3) to find out the effectiveness of using semantic mapping technique on reading comprehension class on the eleventh grade students of SMK muhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap; (4) to find out the teacher and the students’ reaction on the use of semantic mapping technique. The data used for the analysis were taken from the eleventh grade students of SMK MuhammadiyahCimanggu, Cilacap. The researcher appliedpurposive sampling technique. The total number of students are 159 divided into 5 classes.There were 67 studentstaken for the sample. The data were taken from test, questionnaire, observation and interview.The result showed an improvement on students’ reading comprehension. It could be seen from the mean of experimental group which increased from 6.01 in pre test to 7.33 in post test.It was supported by the result of questionnaire showing that most students in the experimental group stated that they were more interested and motivated in learning reading comprehension using semantic mapping. Based on the results above, it revealed that the usage ofsemantic mapping gave good effect in improving the students’ ability and motivation in reading comprehension. |
