Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan oil coating microparticle berbasis minyak jelantah terhadap karakteristik biopelet non-karbonisasi tongkol jagung, serta membandingkan kinerja biopelet dengan perlakuan oil coating microparticle terhadap biopelet tanpa perlakuan pencelupan. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Sistem Termal dan Energi Terbarukan, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat taraf perlakuan waktu pencelupan: T0 tanpa coating), T1 (10 detik), T2 (30 detik), dan T3 (50 detik). Variabel yang diamati meliputi laju pembakaran, kadar air, volatile matter, shatter index, kadar abu, densitas, dan nilai kalor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan oil coating microparticle mampu meningkatkan beberapa parameter kualitas biopelet. Setiap perlakuan memiliki keunggulan masing-masing pada parameter tertentu, di mana ST0 unggul pada laju pembakaran, kadar air dan kadar abu, ST1 menghasilkan nilai kalor dan shatter index terbaik, ST2 memiliki volatile matter tertinggi, ST3 menunjukkan densitas tertinggi.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)This study aims to determine the effect of used cooking oil-based microparticle oil
coating treatment on the characteristics of non-carbonized corn cob biopellets, as well as compare the performance of biopellets with microparticle oil coating treatment on biopellets without dyeing treatment. The research was conducted at the Thermal Systems Engineering and Renewable Energy Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University. The method used is a Complete Random Design with four levels of dyeing time treatment: T0
(without coating), T1 (10 seconds), T2 (30 seconds), and T3 (50 seconds). The observed variables included combustion rate, moisture content, volatile matter, shatter index, ash content, density, and calorific value. The results of the study show that the treatment of oil coating microparticles is able to improve several biopellet quality parameters. Each treatment has its own advantages on specific parameters, where ST0 excels in combustion rate, moisture content and ash content, ST1 produces the best calorific value and shatter index, ST2 has the highest volatile matter, ST3 shows the highest density.
