| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Di Era Globalisasi sekarang ini, teknologi berkembang dengan pesatnya. Life style atau gaya hidup menjadikan identitas seseorang dalam eksistensi diri, gaya hidup ini tidak terlepas dari pengaruh perkembangan informasi yang begitu cepat dan praktis untuk di akses. Gaya hidup modern tersebut membuat masyarakat Indonesia semakin konsumtif terutama dalam hal merokok. Perempuan merokok masih dianggap tabu oleh masyarakat. Kebiasaaan perempuan berjilbab merokok menjadi salah satu hal yang menarik untuk dikaji karena konstruksi masyarakat yang masih menganggap tabu perempuan merokok dan stigma negatif yang ditimbulkannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi mahasiswi berjilbab merokok dan menganalisis strategi mahasiswi berjilbab dalam menyembunyikan kebiasaan merokoknya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sasaran mahasiswi berjilbab di FISIP Unsoed. Lokasi penelitian di FISIP Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel adalah snowball sampling dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini melalui reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan validitas data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian bahwa kebiasaan merokok yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswi berjilbab termotivasi oleh adanya rasa gengsi, iseng, pengaruh lingkungan pergaulan terutama teman atau keluarga dan dijadikan sebuah gaya hidup. Alasan lain yaitu rokok sebagai sebuah bentuk pelampiasan saat mereka mengalami masalah atau stress. Strategi mahasiswi berjilbab dalam menyembunyikan kebiasaan merokok yaitu dengan cara merokok pada situasi tertentu dan masih dilakukan secara sembunyi-sembunyi pada tempat-tempat tertentu, merokok tanpa menggunakan jilbab dan menghilangkan asap rokok dengan pengharum ruangan. | Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | In the Globalization Era recently, technology has developed progressively. Life style becomes the identity of someone in their existence, this life style is not separated from the effect of information development that very fast and practice to be accessed. Modern life style make the society in Indonesia more consumptive especially in the smoking habit. The female who smoke still being considered become taboo by society. The habitual veil female smoking become one of the interested things to be examined because the society construction that still being considered become taboo of female smoking and negative stigma that can be emerged. This research aims to analyze the smoking strategy of veil female student university and analyze the strategy of female student university in hiding their smoking habit. The method of research uses the descriptive qualitative method with the target of female student university at FISIP Unsoed. The location of research at FISIP of Jenderal Soedirman University Purwokerto. The technique that is used in this research is snowball sampling and data collection was conducted by deep interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis in this research by reduction, presentation and taking conclusion, and data validity uses the triangulation technique. The result that has been obtained from the research that the smoking habit that is conducted by female student university has been motivated by the prestige feeling, trying, environment influence in the social intercourse especially with their friends or families and it becomes the life style. Another reason that some as the expression act when they experiences the problem and stress. The strategy of veil female student university in hiding the smoking habit that is by smoking in the certain situation and still being conducted in hidden place in the certain place, smoke without using veil and remove the smoke smell uses the room odor.
