Menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dan teori realisme sosial Georg Lukács, lagu ini dipilih karena menyuarakan kritik terhadap ketidaksetaraan gender, terutama dalam industri hiburan dan masyarakat patriarkal. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa Swift menyoroti standar ganda terkait kepemimpinan, kesuksesan, dan kebebasan berekspresi, di mana perempuan dinilai tidak adil dan harus bekerja lebih keras untuk mendapat pengakuan setara. Melalui liriknya, Swift mengungkap frustrasi terhadap norma sosial yang membatasi perempuan dan memuji pria atas perilaku serupa, sehingga The Man menjadi bentuk kritik sosial atas ketimpangan gender yang sistemik. |

The analysis reveals that Swift highlights double standards in leadership, success, and freedom of expression, where women are judged unfairly and must work harder to gain equal recognition. Through her lyrics, Swift expresses frustration with social norms that constrain women while praising men for the same behaviors, making The Man a strong form of social criticism against systemic gender inequality. |
