Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Teluk Lasolo merupakan salah satu kawasan wisata bahari yang masih alami dengan berbagai biota laut yang ada di wilayah perairan Indonesia. Teluk ini terletak di bagian timur Laut Banda, berhadapan langsung dengan Laut Seram, yang berada di jalur Arus Lintas Indonesia. Karakteristik potensi turbulen disajikan berdasarkan hasil pengamatan langsung CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) dan Vessel Mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VMADCP) pada bulan Juli 2011 dengan menggunakan RV Baruna Jaya VIII. Potensi turbulen diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode Richardson Number (Ri), yang dihitung sebagai rasio antara arus geser dan stratifikasi massa air. Ditemukan tiga zona potensi turbulensi yang berbeda, yaitu di pintu masuk Teluk Lasolo, perairan dalam Teluk Lasolo, dan perairan dangkal Teluk Lasolo. Potensi turbulensi maksimum ditemukan di pintu masuk Teluk Lasolo, dan beberapa titik, yang sangat terkait dengan geseran yang kuat dan kolom air yang kurang bertingkat.
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Lasolo Bay is one of the natural marine tourism regions with various
marine life in the Indonesian territorial waters. The bay is located in the eastern
part of the Banda Sea, directly open to the Seram Sea, which are in the path of the
Indonesian Throughflow. The characteristics of turbulent potential are presented
based on the direct observations of CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) and
Vessel Mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VMADCP) in July 2011 using
RV Baruna Jaya VIII. Turbulent potential was obtained using the Richardson
Number (Ri) method, calculated as the ratio between shear currents and water
mass stratification. Three different strengths of potential of turbulence zone are
found, i.e., in the entrance to the Lasolo Bay, deep water of the Lasolo Bay, and the
shallow waters of the Lasolo Bay. The maximum of turbulence potential was found
in the entrance to the Lasolo Bay, and some spots, which are highly related to
strong shears and less stratified water column.
