| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Anak down syndrome mengalami kesulitan dalam melak ukan personal hygiene, diantaranya tidak dapat melakukan perawatan gigi dan mulut dengan baik. Salah satu upaya promosi kesehatan melalui penyuluhan perlu didukung media seperti film dan flip chart. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas media film dan media flip chart dalam meningkatkan kebersihan gigi dan mulut yang dinilai dari skor Personal Hygiene Performance (PHP) pada anak down syndrome. Jenis penelitian adalah quasi eksperimen berupa pretest dan posttest design. Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah uji t-test. Data hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor PHP saat pretest menggunakan media film adalah 3,1975 lebih tinggi daripada rata -rata skor PHP saat posttest sebesar 1,1292 dengan nilai p = 0,000 ( < 0,05) artinya ada perbedaan skor indeks PHP antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media film. Skor PHP saat pretest pada kelompok penyuluhan menggunakan media flip chart adalah 4,0417 lebih tinggi daripada rata-rata skor PHP saat posttest sebesar 3,0150 dengan nilai p = 0 ,000 ( < 0,05) artinya ada perbedaan skor indeks PHP antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media flip chart. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rata -rata selisih skor PHP sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan pad a anak down syndrome menggunakan media film sebesar 2,0683 lebih besar dibandingkan rata -rata selisih skor sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media flip chart dengan nilai p = 0,008 ( < 0,05) artinya terdapat perbedaan selisih skor PHP media film maupun flip chart. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah media film lebih ef ektif dalam meningkatkan kebersihan gigi dan mulut anak down syndrome. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Children with down syndrome have difficultly in their oral hygiene performance, they could not maintain their own oral hygiene. The health promotion effort through counseling needs to be supported by media such as movie and flip chart. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of movie and flip chart to improve the oral hygiene score using Personal Hygiene Performance (PHP) index of children with down syndrome. This study was used quasi experimental with pretest and posttest group design, the statistical test was used t-test. The result of this study shows that the average of PHP index pretest on movie group is 3.1975 and the posttest is 1.1292 with p = 0.000 ( < 0.005) this result means that there is the differences PHP index score before and after counseling by movie. The average of PHP index pretest on flip chart group is 4.0417 and the posttest is 3.150 with p = 0.000 ( < 0.005) it means that there is the differences PHP index score before and after counseling by flip chart. The result of bivariat analytic test shows that the average deviation of pretest and posttest PHP index score on movie group is greater than fli p chart group, it means there is the differences of PHP index score on movie and flip chart group. The conclusion is counseling by movie more effective to improve the oral hygiene of children with down syndrome than flip chart. |
