| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Laporan praktik kerja ini berjudul “Improving an English Digital Culinary Booklet for the Official Website of Dinas Pariwisata Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta”. Kegiatan praktik kerja ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 September - 9 Desember 2024 di Tourist Information Centre Malioboro. Pelatihan kerja ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses pembuatan buklet digital berbahasa Inggris untuk memperkenalkan hidangan tradisional Yogyakarta dan juga untuk menggambarkan kegiatan sehari-hari selama magang. Selain itu, di TIC belum tersedia booklet kuliner yang berisi tentang kuliner khas Yogyakarta, dan ketika melayani wisatawan, para staf biasanya menggunakan informasi dari internet. Oleh karena itu, booklet kuliner ini sangat dibutuhkan. Dalam menyusun proyek ini, terdapat tiga metode yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dalam proses observasi dilakukan pengamatan langsung saat sebelum dan selama praktik kerja berlangsung, proses wawancara dilakukan saat praktik kerja berlangsung, dan proses dokumentasi dilakukan saat praktik kerja berlangsung maupun tidak berlangsung. Ketiga metode tersebut dilakukan untuk memenuhi tahap pembuatan Booklet Digital tentang kuliner Yogyakarta dalam versi berbahasa inggris. Buklet yang dihasilkan berupa rekomendasi daftar makanan tradisional khas Yogyakarta, penjelasan singkat tentang makanannya, serta alamat restoran yang dilengkapi dengan kode QR yang dapat memudahkan. Dalam proyek ini, mahasiswa menghadapi beberapa tantangan dan menemukan solusi untuk mengatasinya. Tantangan pertama adalah aksara Jawa dalam deskripsi singkat tidak dapat dibaca ketika dikonversi ke dalam PDF. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, mahasiswa menggunakan alat penerjemah. Tantangan kedua adalah terbatasnya akses terhadap jurnal-jurnal penelitian tentang wisata kuliner dan booklet digital, baik di perpustakaan maupun online. Masalah ini diatasi dengan memanfaatkan perpustakaan universitas, meninjau laporan senior, dan mengeksplorasi alat penelitian online gratis. |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This job training report is entitled “Improving an English Digital Culinary Booklet for the Official Website of Dinas Pariwisata Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta”. This job training activity was carried out on September 9 - December 9, 2024, at the Tourist Information Centre of Malioboro. This job training aimed to explain the process of creating an English digital booklet to introduce Yogyakarta's traditional dishes and also to describe the daily activities during the internship. In addition, there was no availability of culinary booklets containing Yogyakarta's culinary specialties at TIC, and when serving tourists, the staff’s usually used information from the internet. Therefore, this culinary booklet was needed. In compiled this project, there were three methods used: observation, interview, and documentation. The observation process involves direct observation before and during the internship, the interview process takes place during the internship, and the documentation process occurs both during and outside of the internship. These three methods were employed to fulfill the stage of creating a Digital Booklet about Yogyakarta's culinary scene in English. The resulting booklet consists of recommendations for traditional Yogyakarta dishes, a brief explanation of the dishes, and the addresses of restaurants accompanied by QR codes for convenience. In this project, The student encountered several challenges and found solutions to overcome them. The first challenge was that the Javanese script in the brief description became unreadable when converted into a PDF. In order to solve this issue, the student used translation tools. The second challenge was limited access to journal studies on culinary tourism and digital booklets, both in libraries and online. This issue was addressed by utilizing university libraries, reviewing senior reports, and exploring free online research tools. |
