| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Peneliti melakukan penelitian yang berjudul “The Analysis of Comprehension Disorder of A Schizophrenic ( A Study of Language Disorder of Schizophrenic Character in “A Beautiful Mind” Movie).” Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pemahaman dan penjelasan rinci tentang gangguan pemahaman bahasa yang digunakan oleh karakter skizofrenia dalam film A Beautiful Mind. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman tentang karakteristik dan jenis gangguan bahasa dan konten yang menyebabkan gangguan bahasa melalui dialog film. Penelitian ini fokus pada analisis gangguan pemahaman bahasa pada penderita skizofrenia dalam film A Beautiful Mind. Gangguan bahasa merupakan gangguan yang melibatkan pengolahan informasi linguistik. Peneleti menganalisis gangguan berbahasa menggunakan teori Andreasen (1979) yang membagi menjadi 18 jenis, antara lain poverty of speech, poverty of content of speech, pressure of speech, distractible speech, tangentiality, derailment, incoherence, illogicality, clanging, neologism, word approximations, circumstantiality, loss of goal, perseveration, echolalia, blocking, stilted speech, dan self-reference. Ciri utama dari penyakit skizofrenia adalah delusi dan halusinasi harus menyertai pasien. Jika kedua gejala tersebut tidak mendominasi pikiran pasien, maka tidak dapat dikatakan sebagai skizofrenia. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah bentuk atau ucapan-ucapan respon penderita skizofrenia. Sumber data diambil dari naskah dan film A Beautiful Mind. Peneliti menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif yang menggambarkan tentang gangguan bahasa dan berusaha untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan bentuk kalimat sebagai gangguan bahasa dalam ucapan-ucapan penderita skizofrenia yang diucapkan oleh John Nash. Temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter skizofrenia dalam film A Beautiful Mind mengalami gangguan berbahasa yang dipengaruhi oleh delusi dan halusinasi. Terdapat 6 jenis gangguan berbahasa dalam 15 ucapan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini. Keenam gangguan tersebuat antara lain derailment, blocking, incoherence, perseveration, circumstantiality, dan pressure of speech. Kesimpulannya, tidak semua jenis gangguan berbahasa digunakan oleh karakter skizofrenia dalam film A Beautiful Mind. Peneliti berharap penelitian ini dapat memberi kontribusi barub kepada para pembaca, khususnya pelajar/mahasiswa yang tertarik untuk memahami penyakit skizofrenia. |

Inggris) | The researcher conducted the research entitled “The Analysis of Comprehension Disorder of A Schizophrenic ( A Study of Language Disorder of Schizophrenic Character in “A Beautiful Mind” Movie).” This research was aimed to get the understanding and detailed explanation about language comprehension disorders that were used by the schizophrenic character in A Beautiful Mind movie. This research gave the understanding about the characteristic and type of language disorders and the content causing language disorder through movie dialog. This research focused on analyzing language comprehension disorder of the schizophrenic character in A Beautiful Mind movie. Language disorder is the disorder that involves the processing of linguistic information. The reseacher analyzed the language disorder based on Andreasen (1979) theory that distinguished into 18 types, they are poverty of speech, poverty of content of speech, pressure of speech, distractible speech, tangentiality, derailment, incoherence, illogicality, clanging, neologism, word approximations, circumstantiality, loss of goal, perseveration, echolalia, blocking, stilted speech, and self-reference. The main characteristics of schizophrenic disease are delusions and hallucinations should accompany the patient. If both of these symptoms do not dominate the mind of the patient, it can not be said as schizophrenic. The data of the research were the form or utterances of the schizophrenic’s responses. And the data sources were taken from the script and the movie of A Beautiful Mind. The researcher used descriptive qualitative which described about language disorder and attempted to explore the application of sentence form as language disorder in schizophrenic utterances which were spoken by John Nash. The finding of this research showed that the schizophrenic character of A Beautiful Mind movie had a language disorder that was influenced by his delusion and hallucination. There were 6 types of language disorders in 15 utterances found in the research. Those six disorders were derailment, blocking, perseveration, incoherence, circumstantiality, and pressure of speech. In conclusion, not all type of language comprehension disorders are used by the schizophrenic character in A Beautiful Mind movie. The researcher hopes that this research can give a new contribution to the readers, especially the students who are interested in understanding of the schizophrenic disease. |
