Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)Latar Belakang : Penggunaan obat dari bahan alam telah lama dilakukan untuk penyembuhan dan perawatan kesehatan. Kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) adalah salah satu tanaman yang dikenal mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang memiliki potensi farmakologis. Penggunaan obat tradisional yang terus meningkat, perlu standardisasi untuk memastikan kualitas dan keamanan bahan baku. Standardisasi meliputi parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik.

Metodologi : Penelitian eksperimental yang dilakukan di laboratorium berdasarkan parameter spesifik meliputi pemeriksaan makroskopik, mikroskopik, kadar sari larut etanol, kadar sari larut air, kadar fenol total, kadar flavonoid total serta parameter non spesifik meliputi susut pengeringan, kadar abu dan kadar abu tidak larut asam

Hasil Penelitian : Pengamatan makroskopik simplisia menunjukkan kulit kayu manis berbentuk pipih, menggulung, dengan warna coklat kekuningan dan rasa manis serta aroma khas kayu manis. Pengamatan mikroskopik simplisia menunjukkan fragmen terdiri dari sel minyak, sklereida dan sel sklerenkim. Kadar sari larut etanol sebesar 25,13±4,66% sedangkan kadar sari larut air sebesar 9±0,36%. Kadar fenol total pada simplisia sebesar 61,08±3,55 mg GAE/g, kadar flavonoid total 40,32±3,64 mg QE/g. Susut pengeringan sebesar 9,71±0,15%, kadar abu total 3, 28 ±0,09%; dan kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,23±0,04%.

Kesimpulan : Kayu manis memenuhi parameter spesifik berdasarkan pengamatan makroskopik, mikroskopik, kadar sari larut air, kadar sari larut etanol, kadar fenol total, kadar flavonoid total serta parameter non spesifik seperti susut pengeringan, kadar abu serta kadar abu tidak larut asam sesuai persyaratan dari monografi resmi Farmakope Herbal Indonesia

Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Background : The use of natural-based medicines has long been practiced for healing and health maintenance. Cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) is one such plant known to contain bioactive compounds with pharmalogical potential. With the increasing use of traditional medicines, standardization is essential to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials. Standardization involves both specific and non-specific parameters.

Methods : The experimental research was conducted in a laboratory based on specific parameters, including macroscopic, microscopic test, ethanol soluble extract content, water soluble extract content, total phenol content, and total flavonoid content, as well as non specific parameters such as loss drying, total ash content, and acid insoluble ash content

Results : Macroscopic test of simplicia showed that the cinnamon bark is flat, curled, yellowish brown in color, with a sweet taste and a characteristic cinnamon aroma. Microscopic test was identified fragments consisting of oil cells, sclereids, and sclerenchyma cells. The ethanol soluble extract content was 25,13±4,66%, while the water soluble extract content was 9±0,36%. The total phenol content of the simplicia was 61,08±3,55 mg GAE/g, and the total flavonoid content was40,32±3,64 mg QE/g. The loss drying was 9,71±0,15%, total ash content was 3,28 ±0,09%, and the acid insoluble ash content was 0,23±0,04%.

Conclusion : Cinnamon simplicia meets the requirements for specific parameters and non specific parameters in accordance with the requirements of the official monograph of the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia.
