| Judul Artikel | KARAKTERISTIK BIOPELET NON-KARBONISASI TEMPURUNG KELAPA MENGGUNAKAN METODE OIL COATING MICROPARTICLE BERBASIS MINYAK JELANTAH |
| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | Air pollution caused by fossil fuel emissions and their limited reserves has driven the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative energy sources, such as biomass-based bio-pellets. Coconut shell, which is abundant in Indonesia, serves as a potential raw material but requires quality improvement to compete with other fuels. This study applied an oil coating microparticle method using used cooking oil to enhance the characteristics of non-carbonized bio-pellets, including density, combustion efficiency, and the reduction of moisture and ash content. The research was conducted at the Thermal System and Renewable Energy Engineering Laboratory (TSTET), Jenderal Soedirman University, from January to March 2025, using coconut shells, used cooking oil, starch, and water, and employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment levels of oil immersion time: T0, T1, T2, and T3. Observed parameters included moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, combustion rate, density, shatter index, and calorific value, analyzed using ANOVA and further tested with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The results showed that the oil coating treatment significantly improved the bio-pellet quality, with the RT3 treatment yielding the best results across most parameters, indicating that this method is effective as a selective approach for enhancing the quality of coconut shell-based biopellets |
