Judul ArtikelEFEKTIVITAS METABOLIT SEKUNDER JAMUR ENTOMOPATOGEN Lecanicillium saksenae DALAM MENGENDALIKAN HAMA WERENG BATANG COKELAT (Nilaparvata lugens) PADA TANAMAN PADI
Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris)Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is the primary staple food commodity in Indonesia. However, in 2023, a 2.45% decrease in harvested area was recorded, attributable to various factors, one of which was the infestation of brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens Stål). Control of this pest is generally carried out using chemical pesticides; however, excessive use poses environmental risks. As an alternative, biological agents such as secondary metabolites derived from the entomopathogenic fungus Lecanicillium saksenae have demonstrated effectiveness under laboratory conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different concentrations and application frequencies of L. saksenae secondary metabolites on damage intensity, brown planthopper population, and populations of natural enemies. The research was conducted from July to December 2024 in rice fields located in Kediri Village, Karanglewas District, Banyumas Regency, as well as at the Plant Protection Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University. A factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) was employed, comprising two factors. The first factor was the concentration of L. saksenae secondary metabolites, consisting of control, 10%, 20%, and 30%, along with a chemical pesticide containing the active ingredient nitenpyram. The second factor was the application frequency, which included weekly and biweekly applications. Each treatment was replicated three times. The results demonstrated that secondary metabolites were effective in reducing rice crop damage and in controlling brown planthopper populations. The optimal concentration was found to be 20%, while weekly application proved to be the most efficient frequency. However, the interaction between concentration and application frequency did not have a statistically significant effect on the observed variables.
