| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis pujian dan jenis-jenis respon pujian yang digunakan dalam podcast Zach Sang Show. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Holmes (1988) dan Herbert (1990). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data meliputi observasi terhadap video podcast di YouTube, dokumentasi berupa transkrip, verifikasi berupa pengklasifikasian data ke dalam jenis-jenis pujian dan jenis-jenis respon pujian, screenshot sebagai konteks pendukung, dan menonton ulang video sebagai pengecekan akhir. Dari hasil analisis, penelitian ini menemukan 38 data tuturan pujian dan 38 data tuturan respon pujian. Dari 38 data jenis pujian, ditemukan 2 data jenis pujian penampilan, 23 data jenis pujian kemampuan, dan 13 data jenis pujian kepribadian atau pertemanan. Dari 38 data respon pujian, ditemukan 6 tanda penghargaan, 20 penerimaan komentar, 2 peningkatan pujian, 1 penugasan kembali, 4 pengembalian, 3 pengurangan skala, 1 pertanyaan, dan 1 ketidaksetujuan. Jenis pujian yang paling banyak digunakan adalah kemampuan kinerja. Hal ini menandakan bahwa pembicara dalam podcast dalam memberikan pujian kepada penerima selalu menyoroti pencapaian atau prestasi penerima. Tipe respon pujian yang paling banyak digunakan adalah penerimaan komentar. Hal ini menandakan bahwa penerima dalam menerima pujian yang diberikan selalu menambahkan komentar atau konteks dalam menanggapi pujian tersebut. Peneliti berharap masyarakat dapat mempelajari tipe pujian dan tipe respon pujian agar tidak terjadi kesalahan komunikasi. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | This research aims to analyze the types of compliments and types of compliment responses used in the Zach Sang Show podcast. The research uses the theories of Holmes (1988) and Herbert (1990). This research uses descriptive qualitative method and total sampling technique. Data collection includes observation of podcast videos on YouTube, documentation in the form of transcripts, verification in the form of classifying data into types of compliment and types of compliment responses, screenshots as supporting context, and re-watching videos as a final check. From the analysis, this research found 38 data of compliment speech and 38 data of response speech of compliments. Of the 38 compliment type data, 2 appearance, 23 ability of performance, and 13 personality or friendship are found. From 38 data of praise response, 6 appreciation token, 20 comment acceptance, 2 praise upgrade, 1 reassignment, 4 return, 3 scale down, 1 question, and 1 disagreement. The most widely used type of praise is ability of performance. This indicates that the speaker in the podcast in giving praise to the recipient always highlights the achievements or achievements of the recipient. The most widely used compliment response type is comment acceptance-single. This indicates that the recipient in accepting the compliment given always adds comments or context in responding to the compliment. The researcher hopes that people can learn the type of compliment and the type of compliment response in order to avoid communication errors. |
