| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Perilaku merokok yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswi di lingkungan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) menjadi fenomena yang menarik untuk dikaji. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami stigmatisasi dan konformitas yang dialami oleh mahasiswi perokok di tengah norma sosial yang masih kuat. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi digunakan untuk menggali pengalaman mahasiswi terhadap pelabelan negatif dan upaya mereka menyesuaikan diri dengan norma sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswi perokok mengalami stigma berupa pelabelan negatif, seperti dianggap tidak bermoral dan melanggar norma kesopanan, terutama pada mereka yang berhijab. Lingkungan kampus FISIP Unsoed memberikan ruang yang lebih permisif, memungkinkan mahasiswi yang merokok sebagai bentuk ekspresi diri dan solidaritas kelompok. Dalam konteks ini, merokok menjadi salah satu cara bagi mahasiswi untuk melakukan pencarian jati diri dan mengekspresikan kebebasan mereka. Namun, stigma dari masyarakat di luar kampus memberikan kecenderungan untuk berkonformitas. Konformitas yang terjadi pada mahasiswi perokok mencerminkan mekanisme compliance dan identification, baik sebagai bentuk adaptasi terhadap norma sosial maupun sebagai bentuk resistensi terhadap pelabelan negatif yang mereka hadapi. Penelitian ini menyoroti bahwa fenomena mahasiswi perokok di FISIP Unsoed menggambarkan kompleksitas dinamika sosial yang dihadapi perempuan dalam mempertahankan kebebasan berekspresi di tengah tekanan sosial yang ada. |

Inggris) | The smoking behavior of female students in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) is an intriguing phenomenon to study. This research aims to understand the stigmatization and conformity experienced by female smokers amid strong social norms. A qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach was employed to explore the experiences of female students regarding negative labeling and their efforts to conform to social norms. The findings indicate that female smokers experience stigma in the form of negative labeling, such as being perceived as immoral and violating standards of propriety, particularly those who wear the hijab. The FISIP Unsoed campus environment provides a more permissive space, allowing female students to smoke as a means of self-expression and group solidarity. In this context, smoking serves as a way for female students to explore their identity and express their freedom. However, societal stigma outside the campus creates a tendency toward conformity. The conformity observed among female smokers reflects mechanisms of compliance and identification, either as a form of adaptation to social norms or as a form of resistance against the negative labeling they face. This study highlights that the phenomenon of female smokers in FISIP Unsoed illustrates the complexity of social dynamics faced by women in maintaining their freedom of expression amidst existing social pressures. |
