| Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia) | Program Studi Matematika merupakan bagian dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Dilihat dari jumlah peminat pada tahun 2022, Program Studi Matematika termasuk program studi yang kurang diminati oleh calon mahasiswa. Tujuan adanya penelitian ini, yaitu untuk mencari faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan calon mahasiswa memilih Program Studi Matematika dengan menggunakan metode analisis faktor. Selain itu, juga diprediksi dan diklasifikasikan mahasiswa yang memilih Program Studi Matematika pada pilihan pertama dan pilihan kedua berdasarkan faktor-faktornya menggunakan metode analisis diskriminan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode analisis faktor mampu menyederhanakan 12 faktor menjadi 2 faktor saja. Kedua faktor yang didapatkan yaitu faktor pengaruh eksternal dan faktor pengaruh internal. Pada faktor eksternal, faktor pembentuknya adalah faktor citra, lokasi, dan keluarga. Sementara itu, untuk faktor internal, faktor pembentuknya adalah faktor minat dan motivasi pribadi. Dari kedua faktor tersebut kemudian dibuat model persamaan yang dapat memprediksi dan mengklasifikasikan mahasiswa yang memilih Program Studi Matematika pada pilihan pertama dan pilihan kedua menggunakan metode analisis diskriminan. Tingkat keakuratan model persamaan pada analisis diskriminan tergolong tinggi, yaitu sebesar 90%. |

| Abtrak (Bhs. Inggris) | The Mathematics Study Program is a part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the Univerity of Jenderal Soedirman. Based on the number of applicants in 2022, the Mathematics Study Program is one of the less popular programs among prospective students. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that influence prospective students' decisions to choose the Mathematics Study Program using factor analysis methods. In addition, this research also predicted and classified prospective students who chose the Mathematics Study Program as the first choice and the second choice based on the factors under consideration by using the discriminant analysis method. The results of this study show that the method of factor analysis is able to simplify 12 factors into 2 factors and these factors are external factors and internal factors. The external factors involves the image, location, and family. Meanwhile he internal involves personal interests and motivations. The two factors is then use to create an equation model that could predict and classify students choosing the Mathematics Study Program on the first choice and the second choice. This is done by using discriminant analysis methods. The level of accuracy of the equation model in discriminant analysis is relatively high, that is 90%. |
